Why Prepare for Spiritual Warfare?
JESUS died on the cross for us...in HIS spiritual warfare for our deliverance from sin, it appeared that HE lost the battle, but the cross was a victory because it was the springboard to HIS overcoming death, hell and the grave.
As believers in HIM, we know that we, too, will be called upon to engage in spiritual warfare--warfare to maintain our spiritual integrity, to secure our own faithfulness, to extend the truth of the ages to those who need to hear.
We cannot be surprised, or be 'off guard,' because the enemy is "a roaring lion who goes about seeking whom he may destroy.' Rather, we must be prepared for battle and, like Paul, we must be able to say ... "I have fought the good fight; I have stayed my course, and now awaits me a great crown of glory."
