BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC
BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC
"He will thunder from His holy dwelling and roar mightily against His land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on earth." (Jeremiah 25:30)
Lyrics
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel; "As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal"; Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel, Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat; Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet; Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me: As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free; [originally . . . let us die to make men free] While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave, He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave; So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave, Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
About the hymn:
This hymn was sung at the funerals of British statesman Winston Churchill, American senator Robert Kennedy, and American presidents Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon.
Firestorm
The Khizr Khan Firestorm
Donald Trump was on the defensive this weekend. During an interview with former Clinton employee George Stephanopoulos, Trump was asked to react to a vicious attack leveled at him at the Democrat convention by Khizr Kahn, the father of a Muslim U.S. soldier who was killed in the Iraq war. Trump's answer was disjointed. Instead of turning the question into an opportunity to go after Hillary Clinton, Trump took the bait and found himself in a major flap with the Gold Star parents of a fallen U.S. soldier.
Big left-wing media and the entire power of the "progressive" political kill machine have been attacking Trump ever since. The same TV networks that have ignored the parents of American heroes who died in Benghazi in part because Hillary Clinton ignored their pleas for better security were quick to give the Kahns a big platform. Mr. Khan was a guest on CNN's State of the Union. Mrs. Khan has an op-ed in this morning's Washington Post.
In contrast, Pat Smith, mother of Sean Smith, who was murdered in Benghazi, was treated like dirt because she attacked Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump. MSNBC called her speech offensive and called Khan's memorable. Chris Matthews said, "I don't care what that woman [Pat Smith] up there, the mother, has felt. Her emotions are her own." The Washington Post actually "fact-checked" Mrs. Smith's heartfelt plea for justice for her son.
Over the weekend Trump made it clear he believes that Khan's son, Captain Humayun Khan, was an American hero. Governor Pence issued a statement agreeing and adding that he and Trump believe that Captain Khan's " . . . family, like all Gold Star families, should be cherished by every American."
I agree! All Gold Star families have suffered a grievous loss and have earned the thanks of our nation. But the Kahn's loss does not change the reality facing our nation as Islamists launch attacks across Europe and here in the United States.
Governor Pence went on to bring the debate back to where it belonged - How do we defeat Islamic supremacists? How do we make our country safe again? Pence stated:
"Captain Khan gave his life to defend our country in the global war on terror . . . Due to the disastrous decisions of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, a once stable Middle East has now been overrun by ISIS. This must not stand.
"By suspending immigration from countries that have been compromised by terrorism, rebuilding our military, defeating ISIS at its source and projecting strength on the global stage, we will reduce the likelihood that other American families will face the enduring heartbreak of the Khan family... Donald Trump will support our military and their families and we will defeat the enemies of our freedom." (Gary Bauer)
Backstory:
What is one to make of the Democratic Convention speech of Khizr Khan, a Pakistani-born Virginia lawyer whose son Humayun was killed in action in Iraq in 2004?
According to Byron York:
Khan's brief speech wasn't a finely-detailed case. But he suggested that Trump's Muslim ban and Mexican border wall proposals are unconstitutional. Specifically, Khan cited the words 'liberty' and 'equal protection of the law' in suggesting that Trump's policies violate the Constitution. But, in fact, "there's simply no sense in which a border wall violates the Constitution." There is also "nothing unconstitutional about deporting people who are in the United States illegally."
York emphasizes that "[a]s far as a Muslim ban is concerned, Trump ... amended his proposal to focus on immigration from countries 'compromised by terrorism.' But assume that Khan was addressing Trump's original, more extensive, proposal: a temporary ban on foreign Muslims from entering the United States."
In fact, the 14th Amendment of the Constitution applies to "all persons born or naturalized" in the United States. It does not refer to foreign persons in foreign countries. Trump made it clear that this ban "would not apply to U.S. citizens, members of the U.S. military and others with a legal right to be in the United States." Whether one approves or disapproves of Trump's building a wall, deporting illegal immigrants, and temporarily banning the entry of foreign Muslims, the fact is that Trump's proposals are not unconstitutional.
In an effort toward clarification, Donald Trump released a statement:
Captain Humayun Khan was a hero to our country and we should honor all who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe. The real problem here are the radical Islamic terrorists who killed him, and the efforts of these radicals to enter our country to do us further harm. Given the state of the world today, we have to know everything about those looking to enter our country, and given the state of chaos in some of these countries, that is impossible. Moreover, Trump reiterated that "Captain Khan, killed 12 years ago, was a hero, but this is about RADICAL ISLAMIC TERROR and the weakness of our 'leaders' to eradicate it!"
But is there even more to the story about Khizr Khan? According to Theodore Shoebat and Walid Shoebat, Mr. Khizr Muazzam Khan is a promoter of Islamic sharia law and a co-founder of the Journal of Contemporary Issues in Muslim Law (sharia). In fact, in the past, Khizr Khan has shown "his appreciation for an icon of the Muslim Brotherhood" by the name of Said Ramadan, who "wrote material for the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia, an organization that has been promoting Islamic revivalism and indoctrination to recruit young people in Malaysia to jihadism." Mr. Said Ramadan was the son-in-law of Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood including Ahmad Bahefzallah, the boss of Huma Abedin (Hillary Clinton's aide)[.]"
Should this connection give us pause?
Shoebat writes that "Khizr Khan currently runs a law firm in New York called KM Khan Law Office, a firm that specializes in 'immigration services.'"
According to Shoebat, "[t]o understand the inception of Muslim immigration one must study the Muslim Minority Affairs, a paradigm created by Saudi jurisprudence which sparked during the times Khan lived in Saudi Arabia while collaborating with the Saudi kingdom. It is likely that Khan is a Muslim plant working with the Hillary Clinton campaign, probably for the interest of Muslim oil companies as well as Muslim immigration into the U.S."
Khizr M. Khan used to work for Hogan & Hartson and Lovells, which has ties to the Clinton Foundation.
Accordingly, "Hogan Lovells LLP, another U.S. firm hired by the Saudis, is registered to work for the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia through 2016, disclosures show. Robert Kyle, a lobbyist from the firm, has bundled $50,850 for Clinton’s campaign."
In fact, Shoebat relates how "[m]any lawyers at Hogan Lovells remember the week in 2004 when U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan lost his life to a suicide bomber. Then-Hogan & Hartson attorneys mourned the death because the soldier’s father, Khizr Khan, a Muslim American immigrant, was among their beloved colleagues."
Shoebat emphasizes that "Saudi interests with using Khan to advance Muslim immigration and advance Muslim Sharia is a lengthy subject [.]" "Then there are the ... ties to Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin as well. The House of Saud had used Huma’s father Sayed Zaynul Abedin’s work regarding the Muslim Minority Affairs in the West, published in 1998 as part of 29 works to construct a plan to conquer the U.S. with Islam."
Shoebat maintains that "[i]t is obvious that Khan is upset, that a Trump victory will eliminate and destroy decades of hard work to bring in Islamic immigration into the United States which was spearheaded by agents in Saudi Arabia like Khan and Huma Abedin’s father (Sayed Z. Abedin)."
Huma Abedin has never been properly vetted, and this takes on even greater urgency now that Clinton is running for the presidency. The mainstream media continues to cover up the Muslim Brotherhood's enormous clout in the Obama administration. Each day brings new revelations about the financial influence and "access" the Saudis have exerted on the Clinton team. Patrick Poole, a national security analyst, asserts that "[t]here are massive conflicts of interest. It's beyond comprehension."
So is it wrong to impugn Khan's motives? He appears to be a man in mourning for his son. Was Mr. Khan merely being used by the Clinton campaign to advance Clinton's agenda? Or is there an even larger issue concerning the influence such people as Abedin and Khan exert concerning Clinton's bid for the highest office in the land?
The questions need answers.

Democratic Nominees and Terrorists: Follow the Money
Democratic Nominees and Terrorists:
Follow the Money by Bill Wilson
Eight years ago on August 5, 2008, Federal Election Commission filings for the Democratic Presidential nominee indicated that he took some $29,500 in illegal campaign contributions from two Palestinians living in the Hamas-controlled Gaza.
This information circulated for several days, but WorldNetDaily's Aaron Klein, tracked down the two brothers in the Tal Esaltan area of the Rafah refugee camp. Klein was unable to confirm if they were connected to the terrorist group Hamas, but he did confirm that they were not US citizens and that they contributed beyond the legal limits by any individual to a presidential campaign.
Continued digging into the money trail demonstrated a pattern that continues with the current nominee.
The FEC continued investigating the contributions in 2008, but there was nothing ever done about them despite documented incidents of campaign finance violations.
A host of accusations ranged from accepting money from non-US citizens for a political campaign; using the Internet for illegal financial solicitations; receiving more than the allowed $2,300 from any individual for any campaign; falsifying records to hide illegal contributors, and so on.
The mainstream media gave it virtually no attention. Currently, the Clinton Foundation has received huge sums of Islamic money. This support provides a solid financial base for Hillary Clinton to campaign for president, some call it money laundering.
Connecting the dots in August 2008, there was an ever-increasing case to be made about the support of the radical Islamic world for the future "president's" campaign--and worse yet, his support for radical Islamists.
Libyan dictator Moammar Qadafi said that the future president is a Muslim who claimed to be a Christian in order to win the US presidency.
The future president supported his cousin Raila Odinga for Kenya's presidency resulting in a bloody purge of Christians and an agreement with Islam to establish Sharia law upon his victory.
His fundraiser Hatem El-Hady once headed an Islamic front charity that was shut down by the US government for raising money for Hamas and other terrorist factions.
The president's campaign started in Chicago at the home of unrepentant former head of the Weathermen terrorist group, Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn, who was once on the FBI's most wanted list.
These are all people who hate America and want to see the Republic replaced with their brand of communism or Islamic fascism.
Isaiah 30:9 says, "That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord."
Eight years ago, I covered this. Since then, there has been a terror attack on American soil every year. Today, there is a candidate and running mate with similar ties to terrorism.
The funding, the connections, the history are all there showing Clinton and Kaine share the same support as Obama.
We cannot afford another four years of increased terrorism because of the wrong-minded philosophy of leaders who have "friends" in Islamic nations who hate America.

If My people, who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. II Chronicles 7:14
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
...But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word. Isaiah 66:2
...I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite. Isaiah 57:15
As we humble ourselves in prayer before You, and as we seek You and turn from our wicked ways, we thank You for Your promise to hear us, to forgive our sins and heal America. We stand on Your promises, Lord. Please show us how to do our part.
In the spirit of sincere humility, we open our hearts to You, Lord of all that is, all that was and all that ever will be. This is Your world, Father. You created it. You own every square inch of it. We are here but for a time.
We gratefully acknowledge that we live in a country founded on faith in You and Your word. We also acknowledge how far we have strayed from You in this country. In sincere humility, we plead for Your mercy, asking You to guide us back to You, our first love.
We ask You to remove our fabrications of who You are, and ask You to reveal Your true self to us. Open the hearts of all Americans to the reality and beauty of Your presence, and draw us to seek You and Your purposes above all else.
Almighty God, we are lost without You. We long to bring You honor in all our ways - in the ways we think, speak, act and react in private and in public. May we resist abuses of Your name, Your will and Your ways. Show us, Father, the ways in which we have fallen short of loving You.
Father, we bow before You, aware of how far we have strayed from You in this nation. Illumine my heart as to any way in which I have contributed to the decline. Forgive our sins, Lord. Forgive my sins, and heal our land.

“At this moment I have in my heart a prayer. As I have assumed my heavy duties, I humbly pray to Almighty God in the words of King Solomon: “Give therefore Thy servant an understanding heart to judge Thy people that I may discern between good and bad; for who is able to judge this Thy so great a people?”
"I ask only to be a good and faithful servant of my Lord Jesus Christ and of my people.” President Harry Truman – April 12, 1945
Choose Wisely
Choose Wisely by Dr. Jim Denison
Col.
Rob Maness was at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 when terrorists
flew an airplane into the building. He was helping survivors when a
chaplain called him over to an injured man. "He was in really bad
shape—it didn't look like he was going to make it," Maness said
later. "I was told to stand there and hold his IV because it was
leaking." He kept talking to the injured man until paramedics took him
to a hospital.
For fifteen years he prayed for the man and wondered what happened to him. Fast-forward to the recent Republican National Convention. Maness is running for the US Senate from Louisiana. Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry introduced him to another man who was in the Pentagon that day, Texas State Senator Brian Birdwell. It turned out that Birdwell was the man Maness helped save. Both are strong Christians; each is now giving thanks to the Lord for what the other means to him. On a very different subject: After School Satan Clubs could be coming to an elementary school near you. The Satanic Temple is petitioning school officials around the country to include them in their after-school programming. This is in response to Good News Clubs, a Christian outreach program made legal by a 2001 Supreme Court ruling that after-school programs cannot be excluded on the basis of their sponsors' religious views. If Christians can do it, Satanists can as well, or so they claim. There's a principle at work here: we seldom see the future consequences of present decisions. That's a fact Satan uses against us, but one the Lord uses for us. Satan hates us so much that he cannot tempt us to do anything for which the gain outweighs the pain. However, as the "father of lies" (John 8:44) he wants to convince us that the opposite is true. Because we want what Satan offers, we find a way to justify choosing it. We see the consequences of temptation only after we fall to it: "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death" (Proverbs 14:12). Conversely, our Father loves us so much that he cannot lead us to do anything for which the pain outweighs the gain. He loves us as much as he loves his own Son (John 17:23). He always and only wants what is best for us. However, in the moment of obedience we often cannot see its benefits. We see the consequences of faithfulness only after we choose to be faithful. Then we can say with Paul, "I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us" (Romans 8:18). As a result, the time to prepare for spiritual challenges is before we face them. In the moment, we cannot trust what seems best to us. We must decide now that we will be faithful when the temptation or opportunity comes. Good students study for a test before they take it. When you face challenges to your faith today, remember two images: Satan as a roaring lion seeking to devour you (1 Peter 5:8) and Jesus dying on the cross for you. Then choose wisely. |
LORD, Help Us Find Our Way Back
I grew up in New Brighton,Pennsylvania, during a time when everyone treated each other like family.
Children went outside to play, we got dirty, and we ate whatever our mom cooked....bologna sandwiches, penny candy, Twinkies & Ho Ho's.
We played "Mother May I, Red Light, Green Light, red rover, football, basketball, hop scotch, rang door bells and ran, dodge ball, we could take a walk in the woods and ride our bicycle to a friend's house a mile or more down the road, we weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING BUT OUR ELDERS.
We watched our mouths around our elders because we knew If we DISRESPECTED any grown up we would get a spanking!
We were taught RESPECT FOR OTHERS AND THEIR PROPERTY. As children, we didn't speak if an adult was talking. If someone had a fight, it was a fist fight..kids didn't have guns when we grew up. When it got dark we knew it was time to go inside. Occasionally we stayed out to catch lightning bugs.
We loved going to school because we had wise, caring teachers who knew we needed the treasure of knowledge they had to share with us if we were to become productive, patriotic citizens.
We went to church every Sunday and to Sunday school and to Wednesday evening services or catechism because our parents were people of faith in CHRIST and they wanted their most precious possessions--their children--to have the joy of the LORD as their strength.
We need to get back to those times because we're losing our children to a society with no respect for authority, no compassion for others, no knowledge of the world and no faith in our HOLY SAVIOR.
