Thoughts on Today's Verse

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware
Seek! That is the focus word in this verse. This word is a robust word, describing a passionate pursuit of something to make it our own. The Kingdom, and the righteousness of those in this Kingdom, is not our wish, our hope, our dream — it is our passion. We will pursue it at all costs. We will pursue it with passion. This will be our consuming effort until we make it our own, or better yet, find it our home!

Religious Freedom Is Key to Healthy Society

Majority of Americans Believe Religious Freedom Is Key to 'Healthy Society', New Poll Says

A new Summit Ministries poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports found that the overwhelming majority of Americans say religious freedom is key to a "healthy American society." The poll of likely voters was an encouraging sign that freedom of religion remains a tightly held belief in the United States.

American Family Association (AFA) rejoices that the American people continue to hold this value sacred at a time when religious freedom is under attack. The poll confirmed the country is united on this essential freedom, with 85% of Republicans, 83% of Independents and 79% of Democrats saying that freedom of religion is "very important" or "somewhat important."

"In a day when beliefs about major freedoms seem to be shifting in America, this is welcome news," said Ed Vitagliano, executive vice president of AFA. "Religious freedom is critical to the rest of the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights, which is why it is often called the 'First Freedom.' It is encouraging that more than 8 out of 10 Americans not only think this freedom is worth protecting, but that doing so is linked to a healthy society."

Only 9% of respondents to the Summit poll said they believe freedom of religion is "not very important" or "not important at all." Further, supporting specific applications of religious freedom, the survey found that only 20% of Americans say churches or faith-based charities should be required by law to hire people who oppose their religious beliefs.

Despite the broad-based support of religious freedom, leaders in Washington, D.C., continue to aggressively push legislative measures like the misnamed Equality Act, which specifically chips away at the free exercise of religion enshrined in the First Amendment.

While recognizing the encouraging responses in the polling, Vitagliano added the caution, "There are forces operating in the country who would like to erode this belief in religious freedom, so Christians and members of other faiths must be vigilant and fight to keep this right sacrosanct."

#1 Way to Effectively Reach People for Christ:

#1 Way to Effectively Reach People for Christ:

Help Solve Their Problems

I am often surprised that pastors don’t preach about the one thing Jesus did that allowed Him to have influence in the lives of others.

He did it every time someone came to Him who had a need.

Every time He did it, his notoriety and followers increased dramatically.

What was this characteristic?

He solved a major problem in the person’s life.

For Mary, He saved her from getting stoned.
For Peter, He allowed him to catch more fish.
For the blind man, He healed his eyes.
For Matthew, He delivered him from a life of embezzlement.
For Lazarus, He brought him back from the dead.

People don’t care who solves their problem, they just want their problem solved. When you solve a problem in a person’s life, you will gain influence. It’s quite simple. Then you can use that influence to introduce them to JESUS who is the ultimate problem solver.

Surprising character traits that indicate a high IQ

The Overcoming Spirit

The Overcoming Spirit by Dean Deppe

Scripture Reading: Acts 16:6-10
"They tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. . . . Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia . . . begging him, 'Come over to Macedonia and help us.'"
Acts 16:7-9
The book of Acts is the story of the Holy Spirit spreading the good news of Jesus out into the world. The Spirit fills believers in Christ and empowers them to be his witnesses. We like to be comfortable, and we often stay cloistered in our own communities. But the Spirit keeps pushing the church to take risks and spread the gospel to every corner of the world.
The Spirit moved the first Christians out from Jerusalem to Samaria and other nations nearby (Acts 8-10). Then the Spirit appointed missionaries to go to other lands (Acts 13). Our reading today shows that the Spirit wanted to spread the gospel into Europe (Macedonia, Greece, and beyond). So he blocked the missionaries from going another way.
Do you feel the push of the Holy Spirit? Go beyond your comfort zone and get to know someone who doesn’t know Jesus. Keep listening to the Spirit, even if it means changing your plans.
The Holy Spirit overcomes all kinds of problems as well. The Spirit enabled the church to deal with racism (6:1-7), persecution (8:1-9:31), conflict with government (12:1-24), differences among leadership (15:1-16:5), powers of evil (19:13-20), and unbelief (28:23-28). After facing each of these problems, the church grew (Acts 6:7; 9:31; 12:24; 16:5; 19:20; 28:28). Likewise, the Spirit can overcome any fears, anxieties, and hesitations that we may have about sharing the good news.
Holy Spirit of our true and living GOD, give me the courage to share your love with the people you want me to meet today. In JESUS' mighty name, Amen.

Thoughts on the Olympics

Thoughts on the Olympics by Bill Keller

In a month, the athletes of the world will descend upon Japan for the Summer Olympics that were postponed last year due to the pandemic. The US Olympic Committee needs to take the same stand as the International Olympic Committee has, and that is there will be NO POLITICAL PROTESTS ON THE MEDAL STAND! Someone who violates this IOC rule will be stripped of their medal and sent back home.
Gwen Barry is part of the US team and has been the subject of much discussion in recent days. She came in 3rd in the hammer throw to get the bronze medal. When they began to play the National Anthem she turned her back on the flag as a means of protesting the country she just qualified to represent. This is a no-brainer.. KICK HER OFF THE TEAM! PERIOD!!!
Let me also address this larger issue in regard to the Olympics. Next February China will be hosting the Winter Olympics, and as much as I love sports, love to see my country not just represented but winning, I am unequivocal that we should boycott the upcoming Winter games.
Back in 1936, Germany hosted the Summer games. The Chancellor of Germany was Adolph Hitler. He was the legally elected the head of Germany in 1933, and this was 3 years before he began WW2. So it is hard to condemn the nations of the world from participating since in fairness he had not begun his military aggression.
I don't doubt that if the leaders of the nation's participating in the '36 Summer games had known the pure evil of Hitler they would have never been part of those games. WHAT WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT HITLER AT THE TIME, WE DO KNOW ABOUT THE COMMUNIST CHINESE PARTY!!!
From the Uyghur concentration camps in western China that many report rival the Nazi death camps, to the breaking of their deal with Hong Kong as they took it over by sheer force 37 yrs early, to the persecution of Christians in China...WE KNOW OF THE EVIL THAT IS THE CCP!!! WHY WOULD WE GIVE THEM LEGITIMACY ON THE GLOBAL STAGE? THE FACT IS WE SHOULDN'T!!! BOYCOTT THE '22 WINTER GAMES IN CHINA AND SEND THE WORLD A MESSAGE THAT WE WILL NOT BE A PARTY TO THIS SATANIC REGIME!!!
I can assure you 100% that if we knew what Hitler would do just a few years after those Summer games in Germany we would have NEVER participated.
SADLY THE BIDEN FAMILY IS COMPROMISED AND OWNED BY THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT. IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY THEY WILL CROSS THEIR COMMUNIST MASTERS, SO AS MUCH OF A SACRIFICE IT WOULD BE , OUR ATHLETES SHOULD REFUSE TO GO!!!

China Manipulating American Businesses

China Manipulating American Businesses to Serve Beijing’s Interests, House GOP Investigation Finds - Epoch Times

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is manipulating American companies to help it achieve its aims of shaping public opinion, influencing government decisions, and acquiring U.S. technology, Republican lawmakers warned on June 27.

“U.S. businesses are receiving guidance and direction from Chinese officials to influence business operations, investment strategy, and strategic directions,” according to interim findings provided to The Epoch Times by lawmakers on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

The probe also found that U.S. corporate executives and employees practiced “self-censorship,” adjusting their business strategies “due to concerns of Chinese opposition.” (Read more)

- Holy One -- We bind and rebuke every single scheme of China against this nation, in Jesus name!  It is time for the foul to be separated from the holy and communism is foul from its inception.  We renounce every allegiance, alliance and affiliation with China that has been made by our nation's investors, businesses, chambers of commerce, corporations, and every other free-market, capitalist entities that are the lifeblood of our nation.  We erect a spiritual wall of fire around our sovereign nation and call for righteousness and freedom from communist tyranny, in Jesus Holy, Mighty Name! Amen!

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness."           (Romans 1:18)

Seekers of God

Seekers of God

From: Today God Is First by Os Hillman
June 30, 2021
"God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God." Psalm 53:2
Are you a man or woman who is a seeker of God? The Lord delights in seeing those children of His who truly understand the meaning of life and why there is only one thing worth seeking-- God Himself.
I can always tell when I have not been seeking God. The cares of this life, the urgent over the important, and the petty irritations-these are the symptoms of a life that has not been in the presence of God.
Do we understand, really understand? That is the question God raises to each of us today. If we understand, then why do we spend day after day toiling and fretting over what doesn't matter? Can we set proper boundaries in our lives that don't allow our time with Him to be continually stolen away? It is a challenge in a world that screams "activity, activity!"
Do you have a consistent time of seeking Him in your life? Are you committed to developing that intimacy with your Lord that He so desires? If not, ask Him today to help you. This is the longing of His heart. Ask Him to make it the longing of your heart. Then you will demonstrate to Him that you understand, and you will be a seeker of God.

Thoughts on Today's Verse

"For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever." Psalm 37:28

Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware
God is committed to his people. He loves justice, and those who pursue it. He will not forget his people, those who seek to honor him by displaying his character in their lives. God has promised that he will honor his promises to his people and preserve them with his protecting power, forever. As God has promised elsewhere, "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you!"

Grieving and Quenching the Spirit

Grieving and Quenching the Spirit by Dean Deppe Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:29-32; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit. . . . Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:30-32

The Bible includes warnings about grieving the Spirit and hindering his work.
Ananias and Sapphira lied to the church and the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:1-10). They sold a piece of property, kept some of the money, and gave the rest to the church. That wasn’t a bad thing, of course, but then they lied about their gift, saying they donated all of the money from the sale. They wanted people to be impressed by their generosity. But they could not get away with their deception. If we make a false commitment to God, pretending we are following the Spirit and even bragging about it, we fall into dangerous hypocrisy.
Following our own selfish desires, we can quench or suppress the Spirit. We can dampen the Spirit’s fire by not following the Spirit’s leading. We can refuse to use the gifts of the Spirit when they are available. But if we do things like that, how can we expect to be faithful and useful to God?
We can also grieve the Spirit by rebelling against God and doing as we please (see Isaiah 63:10). We can be stubborn and mean-spirited. Instead of being kind and compassionate, we can act with bitterness and anger. We can be unwholesome and immoral.
How can we protect ourselves from these destructive ways? We can ask the Holy Spirit to fill us and guide us each day so that we can live in step with him. Then God can use us in wonderful ways.
Protect us, Lord, from grieving and quenching your Spirit. Fill us and direct us to follow your will, not our own. Amen.

Abortions Banned after 24 Weeks

Abortions Banned after 24 Weeks

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) signed a budget bill Friday, which includes bans on abortions after 24 weeks and teaching that individuals are inherently racist due to their skin color.
Sununu signed a $13.5 billion biennium budget bill and a trailer bill (HB 1 and HB 2).
“Historic tax cuts, property tax relief, and Paid Family Medical Leave delivered all in one sweeping action is a win for every citizen and family in this state,” the governor said in a simple statement that did not mention the non-financial issues which have been the subject of much debate.
The new law contains the Fetal Life Protection Act, which bans abortions after 24 weeks of pregnancy and serves as New Hampshire’s first ban on late-term abortion.
The pro-life and pro-family Cornerstone Action explained the significance of the 24-week ban:
At a time when other states are legalizing abortion up to birth, the Granite State has boldly gone in the opposite direction and rejected its longstanding commitment to pro-abortion absolutism. In fact, New Hampshire has just become the first state in the country to go from allowing abortion up to birth to passing a late-term abortion ban.
“This is, from my history in this state, unprecedented, that in the ‘Live Free or Die’ state, we would see an extreme legislative position to try and control women’s bodies, to get between women and their health care provider,” U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), who backs abortion rights at any time during pregnancy, said in a statement:
Planned Parenthood New England also referred in a statement to the 24-week abortion ban as “extreme,” adding that Sununu “signed the most regressive anti-reproductive health care budget in New Hampshire history, ignoring public opinion and opposition from more than 200 of the state’s leading medical experts.”
House Democrat Leader Renny Cushing expressed disappointment in the legislation, stating it is “forcing right-wing ideology on the people of New Hampshire,” reported InDepthNH.
State House Majority Leader Jason Osborne (R), focused on tax cuts, the school voucher plan, and the ban on teaching the tenets associated with Critical Race Theory.
“This transformational budget delivered a $170 million total cut from every tax on the books while still funding our state’s needs,” he said in a statement.
“We empowered families to find the best fit for their child’s educational needs, passed some needed reform to the governor’s emergency powers, and put an end to teaching the unfounded idea that an individual is inherently racist simply due to the color of their skin,” Osborne added. “We delivered a $100 million statewide property tax cut, giving our residents direct relief.”

Structural Racism

Structural Racism

The National Archives' task force on racism claimed in a little-noticed report to the U.S.’s top librarian that the Archives' own Rotunda – which houses the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights – is an example of "structural racism" and that the Founding Fathers and other White, historically impactful Americans are portrayed too positively.
The report was completed in April and released this month but has so far flown under the media radar. The task force claims that structural racism "unequivocally impacts" how National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) employees interact with each other, customers and the historical records themselves.
FEDERAL RESERVE TELLS EMPLOYEES TO AVOID ‘BIASED TERMS’ LIKE ‘FOUNDING FATHERS’
Some examples of "structural racism" were provided in the summary of the report, including "legacy descriptions that use racial slurs and harmful language to describe BIPOC communities," which includes actual racial slurs alongside terms such as "elderly," "handicapped" and "illegal alien."
Additionally, the report categorized the National Archives' Rotunda as another example of "structural racism" as it "lauds wealthy White men in the nation's founding while marginalizing BIPOC [Black, Indigenous and other People of Color], women, and other communities."
The task force suggests ways to "reimagine the Rotunda," including staging "dance or performance art in the space that invites dialogue about the ways that the United States has mythologized the founding era."

The report also called for "trigger warnings" to be put in place with historical content to "forewarn audiences of content that may cause intense physiological and psychological symptoms."
"Providing an advisory notice to users gives us an opportunity to mitigate harm and contextualize the records," the report reads. "It creates a space to share with the public our ultimate goals for reparative description, demonstrate our commitment to the process, and address any barriers that we may face in achieving these goals (i.e., the size and scope of the Catalog and the ever-evolving knowledge we gain regarding what is harmful)."
ANTI-CRITICAL RACE THEORY ORG LAUNCHING WITH OVER $1M AD BUY
The task force's report also calls for a change to language on OurDocuments.gov — a website on American "milestone documents" such as the Constitution and Declaration of Independence — to be less celebratory of historically impactful Americans, such as former President Thomas Jefferson.
"OurDocuments.gov features transcripts and historical context of ‘100 milestone documents of American history’ but often uses adulatory and excessive language to document the historical contributions of White, wealthy men," the report reads before taking aim at Jefferson.
"For example, a search of Thomas Jefferson in OurDocuments.gov brings up 24 results. He is described in this sample lesson plan as a ‘visionary’ who took ‘vigorous action’ to strengthen the ‘will of the nation to expand westward,’" the report continues.
'ARMY' OF VIRGINIA PARENTS UNITE AGAINST CRITICAL RACE THEORY 'INSANITY': 'OUR PROTESTS WON'T STOP'
"The plan does not mention that his policy of westward expansion forced Native Americans off their ancestral land, encouraged ongoing colonial violence, and laid the groundwork for further atrocities like the Trail of Tears," it added.
Additionally, the report calls for "the creation of safe spaces in every NARA facility" and says NARA has "a responsibility to eliminate racist language in archival descriptions and revise the policies and practices that led to it."
The task force said that "racist language" includes "not only explicitly harmful terms, such as racial slurs, but also information that implies and reinforces damaging stereotypes of BIPOC individuals and communities while valorizing and protecting White people," the report reads. "Descriptive terminology cannot be divorced from its context."
Cassie Smedile, executive director of conservative group America Rising, said that the report is "the radical Left's latest attempt to sow division and rewrite our history."
"With Democrats controlling every lever of our government, these efforts have only become more flagrant and pervasive. No institution, agency or classroom is off limits," Smedile told Fox News in an email. "The American people deserve to be made fully aware of the radical Left's schemes, and we'll continue to expose them."
National Archivist David Ferriero commissioned the task force in response to George Floyd's death last year, the report notes. Ferriero has served in the position since 2009, after he was nominated by former President Obama and confirmed by the Senate. The position has an indefinite term length.
NARA did not respond to Fox News' request for comment.
