On Its Face

 On Its Face

To only visual observation, last night's presidential debate was not a debate, it was a barroom brawl.
Donald Trump's bombastic performance had his most stalwart supporters cringing. Those who hate him are reveling in his less- than-presidential performance.
Joe Biden, on the other hand was free of his usual stumbling ineptitude. Biden was composed and appeared far more in command of the debate.
There is an explanation for last night's fiasco that goes beyond the men and how they comported themselves. It will make sense to Trump's supporters and it will be the height of hilarity to those in Biden's corner.
Donald Trump has been maligned by the media since he announced his candidacy in the first go round. He has been denigrated by the democrats as well as by members of his own party.
From the moment he stepped into the political arena, he has been falsely accused of every manner of evil and ineptitude. He has been thwarted at every turn from his inauguration.
When his policies were doing well and America was overcoming the mismanagement of the former administration, when he was renegotiating trade deals to make them fair to America's workers, when he was robustly demanding equity from trading partners who had enjoyed years of advantage over our own people, the coronavirus --which some say was deliberately released by the Chines for the very purpose of halting Trump's progress --undid three years' of economic resurgence of the American economy.
When President Trump closed the borders to protect our citizens from the coronavirus, he was called a racist by the democrats. Nancy Pelosi went so far as to walk through Chinatown in San Francisco to evidence her support of the Chinese over Trump. Now, those same democrats are accusing the president of not doing enough, soon enough, to preserve American lives.
There are countless more evidences of the lies and innuendos that the democrats have hurled at Trump since he began his tenure as president and those who keep abreast of the news know what they are.
Joe Biden, perhaps with the benefit of performance enhancers, comported himself far above his recent stumbles and blunders. Biden smoothly reiterated the distortions and untruths that suggest he has been a force for the citizens of this nation through the 47 years of his public life.
Biden was not challenged on the reality that he and his family, including his brothers and his son Hunter, have aggrandized themselves through questionable deals with foreign governments, including Hunter Biden's receipt of over three million dollars from the wife of the mayor of Moscow and his high=paying "jobs" with foreign companies.
Nor was it mentioned that Hunter Biden's relationship with the Chinese has resulted in quite a windfall for young Biden. The question of the probability that his association with an enemy government was enriched because his father was then the vice president were not questions posed to Joe Biden.
The media, ever against Trump and always masking Biden's traitorous self and family enrichment was again in play.
Donald Trump, in his street-fighter fashion, attempted to defend himself against the onslaught against him, including Chris Wallace, who for all his attempt at civility and neutrality, is indeed, a member of the biased media.
So, President Trump went home, convinced that he had brought to light the truth about the negative bias of the media.
Joe Biden went home, confident that his smooth lies had done what they have always done -- shown him to be a stellar politician who is above reproach.
And Chris Wallace went home after attempting to be the bouncer at a barroom brawl, for several stiff drinks.

Thoughts on Today's Verse

"For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you admonished them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you handed them over to the neighboring peoples." Nehemiah 9:30

Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware
God has spoken repeatedly to his people through the prophets who spoke as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. But so often, these people ignored their voice and abandoned their God. Let's not let the same thing be said of us!
My Prayer...
Sovereign LORD and Abba Father, I praise you! Please never let me ever outlive my love for you or my heart's desire to be obedient and pleasing to you! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Dick Morris says.....

Quote from C.S. Lewis

"Do not let your happiness depend on something you may lose." C.S. Lewis

Judge Amy Cony Barrett

Judge Amy Cony Barrett by Bill Wilson

While the Democratic Party is scrambling to discredit President Trump’s nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court, there is really no debate. For example, AP just published a story saying that Barrett belonged to a Catholic organization that “hold men are divinely ordained as the “head” of the family and faith.” Oh WOW, stop the presses! Seriously, Barrett already has been vetted and confirmed by the Senate as a jurist on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Having said that, the relentless personal attacks on Barrett are par for the course. They are shameful. All this is a sign of our times when elected officials care nothing about the law or integrity, but everything about tearing a person down.
A White House source sent me the following information about Judge Barrett that may be helpful in informing and equipping you as a foundational basis that brings both facts and understanding to who Judge Barret is and why she is qualified to sit on the highest court of the land. From the White House: “Judge Barrett’s extensive experience as a professor and litigator, record of academic success, and outstanding judicial record make her an excellent choice to serve on the Supreme Court. Judge Barrett has demonstrated a steadfast dedication to upholding the Constitution as written, and not legislating from the bench. Judge Barrett’s excellent judicial record shows she will protect the rights of Americans and defend the rule of law.
“Judge Barrett’s character and work ethic have earned her awards and bipartisan praise from the legal community. Judge Barrett’s colleagues at Notre Dame Law School signed a letter supporting her 2017 nomination, calling her “a model of the fair, impartial and sympathetic judge.” In 2017, a bipartisan group of law professors – including professors from Harvard and Stanford and other law schools around the country – urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to confirm Judge Barrett to the Seventh Circuit, describing her work as “rigorous, fair-minded, respectful, and constructive.” The American Bar Association rated Judge Barrett as “well qualified” in 2017.
“Since 2017, Judge Barrett has served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit after she was nominated by President Trump and confirmed on a bipartisan vote. Judge Barrett was appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts to sit on the Advisory Committee on Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure, where she served from 2010 to 2016. After graduating from law school, Judge Barrett clerked for D.C. Circuit Judge Laurence Silberman and for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.” Since the Senate already approved her for the Seventh Circuit Court, Judge Barrett should have no obstacle to the Supreme Court, except the ongoing obstruction that has become the hallmark of the Democratic Party. Despite what you hear or read, this is a Matthew 24:4 moment: “Take heed that no man deceive you.” The constitution is at stake.

Possibilities Unlimited

Possibilities Unlimited by Dr. D. James Kennedy

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
What would you try if you knew you could not fail? Would you climb a mountain? Learn to fly an airplane? Share the Gospel with your family? The Scripture promises us that we can do “all things.” Have you claimed that promise? A person who professes to believe he or she “can do all things through Christ” and does not exercise that belief is like a miser who has a hundred million dollars in the bank but goes hungry day after day.
For many of us, our belief is more like this: “I can do a few things through Christ, who gives me a little help.” Why do we sometimes believe that we can do only “a few things?” We believe this because we listen to the lies Satan speaks through his voice of discouragement. We believe this because we allow persecution to stop the Lord’s work.
But if we want God to use us, we have to bank on that verse. Those who have turned the world upside down—Hudson Taylor, Adoniram Judson, and William Carey—believed God could do mighty things through them. They made this verse their life verse, and it transformed them.
And even though the apostle Paul was beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, and left for dead, he attempted great things for God because he expected great things from God. He lived by the verse he had penned—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
If you let the truth of this verse permeate your thinking, it can transform your life. We achieve only a fraction of what we could because we don’t take God at His Word. Are your expectations too low? Do you dream big dreams but never act on them? Then ask God to plant this promise deep in your soul and help you live in His power.

Thoughts on Matthew 5:44

 Thoughts on Matthew 5:44

"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."
We might think for a moment, "Who are our enemies?" Many of us believe we have no enemies. However, an enemy might be someone we thought was a friend, a family member with a long-held grudge, or even a brother or sister in Christ.
An enemy can be someone we feel does not like us and has hurt or mistreated us. Whether we consider them enemies or not, there is no denying their hostility. In the same verse, Jesus goes on to expand His list of hostiles: "Bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."
We have probably all been through this particular trial and test as we grow to love one another as brethren. The church is just like a big family, where people can be hurt or feel mistreated in one way or another. Conflicts, misunderstandings, and slights—real or imagined—occur in every group of human beings, Christian or not.
It is very difficult to "love," "bless," "do good," and "pray" for a person who has hurt us deeply. It goes against our human nature to behave positively toward someone we feel deserves censure, and punishment! Putting this principle into practice is a high hurdle for any Christian to clear.
Yet, as Christians, we know that forgiveness is one of the keys that Jesus taught for healing. Not only is it a teaching—it is also a command. Christ admonishes us to keep this charge in His model prayer in Matthew 6:12: "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors." Alternatively, it could be said, "Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us" (see Luke 11:4).
Jesus comments further on this in Matthew 6:14-15: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
In Matthew 18:21-22, we find another example: "Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." In other words, we must always be willing to forgive a brother.

Today in History

Today in History 1939 Nazis and Communists Divvy Up Poland

On September 29, 1939, Germany and the Soviet Union agreed to divide control of occupied Poland roughly along the Bug River—the Germans taking everything west, the Soviets taking everything east.
As a follow-up to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, (also known as the Hitler-Stalin Pact), that created a non-aggression treaty between the two behemoth military powers of Germany and the U.S.S.R., Joachim von Ribbentrop, the German foreign minister, met with his Soviet counterpart, V.M. Molotov, to sign the German-Soviet Boundary and Friendship Treaty. The fine print of the original non-aggression pact had promised the Soviets a slice of eastern Poland; now it was merely a matter of agreeing where to draw the lines.
Joseph Stalin, Soviet premier and dictator, personally drew the line that partitioned Poland. Originally drawn at the River Vistula, just west of Warsaw, he agreed to pull it back east of the capital and Lublin, giving Germany control of most of Poland’s most heavily populated and industrialized regions. In return, Stalin wanted Lvov, and its rich oil wells, as well as Lithuania, which sits atop East Prussia.
Germany now had 22 million Poles, “slaves of the Greater German Empire,” at its disposal; Russia had a western buffer zone.
On this same day, the Soviet Union also signed a Treaty of Mutual Assistance with the Baltic nation of Estonia, giving Stalin the right to occupy Estonian naval and air bases. A similar treaty would later be signed with Latvia.
Soviet tanks eventually rolled across these borders, in the name of “mutual assistance,” placing the Baltic States into the hands of the U.S.S.R. for decades to come.
These “treaties” were once again merely the realization of more fine print from the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, giving Stalin more border states as buffer zones, and protecting Russian territory where the Bolshevik ideology had not been enthusiastically embraced from intrusion by its western neighbor, namely its non-aggression partner Germany.
The highly vulnerable Baltic nations had little to say about any of these arrangements; they were merely annexed.

Visions and Dreams

Visions and Dreams From: Today God Is First by Os Hillman September 29, 2020

"In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions; your old men will dream dreams." Acts 2:17
"I need to meet with you," said the man from England during a break at a conference overseas. We walked outside to have a coffee break and sat down. "God wants you to know that He removed your finances in order to reserve His reward for you in Heaven. He has done you a great service."
I was shocked. I'd never met this gentleman before. How would he have known I had lost a half million dollars in the previous few years, virtually all of my financial net worth, to some unusual calamities? We shared for the next several minutes.
That week, during our lunch and dinner times, I had been enjoying wonderful, juicy oranges from this island in the Mediterranean Sea. It came time for the gentleman and I to conclude our coffee break. We bowed in prayer. As we prayed, the man began to describe a picture he was seeing in his mind.
"I see a picture of a large orange tree. The tree is full of large, ripened oranges. They are beginning to fall to the ground. You are the tree!"
Again, I looked at the man with shock and amazement, and now tears in my eyes.
"You are the third person in three years that has had a similar vision during a prayer time like this. The first two people were also strangers to me."
I went back into the meeting rejoicing that God could be so personal in my life. He used a servant who had gone through similar trials to supernaturally speak a word of encouragement in a way that I would know it was God who was speaking.
There are times when God supernaturally speaks into our lives. He does this to demonstrate His power, His love, and His intimacy with us. Do not be surprised if God sends one of His messengers to speak into your life when you need it most. Be open to how God might want to speak into your life today.
"He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers," (Psalm 1:3).

Thoughts on Today's Verse

Moses replied, “When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the LORD. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the LORD’s. — Exodus 9:29

Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware
When Moses confronted Pharaoh and was met only by the hardness of Pharaoh's heart, God sent the plagues. Why? Because God wanted Pharaoh to know that Israel's God wasn't just another god, but that the LORD was the Only True and Living God.
The nations, the seasons, and the earth are his. All people must come to revere his name and receive his grace.
My Prayer...
God of all the universe and of all that I can imagine, experience, or see, I praise you and proclaim you to be God indeed. In Jesus' name I praise you. Amen.

Media Bias vs. Amy Cony Barrett

The media no longer even tries to hide their blatant bias! Because they have devolved into nothing but lying propagandists, it doesn’t take long for them to be exposed for the world to see.

Take Supreme Court Justice nominee Amy Cony Barrett.
Former VP Joe Biden is a lifelong Catholic and claims his faith is very important to him. Current Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi makes sure to remind people all of the time how important her Catholic faith is to her. Now the media fawns over, protects, supports, and helps in every way they can Biden and Pelosi, often reminding people of what an asset their “strong Catholic faith” is to them.
This very same media is already beginning their attempted destruction of Judge Barrett...because of her Catholic faith!!! What is the disconnect?
Biden and Pelosi while belonging to the Catholic Church, have spent their long political careers supporting and advocating for the slaughter of innocent babies in 100% contradiction to the teachings of the church they claim is so important to them.
Actually, they both have spent their entire public lives governing in opposition to the teachings of the Catholic Church!
Judge Barrett on the other hand, has lived her private AND PUBLIC life supporting the unborn as well as the teaching of the Catholic Church. THAT IS WHY THE MEDIA LOVES BIDEN AND PELOSI AND HATES JUDGE BARRETT!
The media are fine with “religious people” as long as they advocate for the liberal agenda, especially for the number one issue of that agenda, the murder of innocent babies!!!
If on the other hand, a public figure takes a Biblical stand on the issues of the day, ESPECIALLY LIFE, he will be vilified, demonized, and the media will do their best to destroy him!!!
Judge Barrett has been married to only one man for 18 years. She and her husband have 7 children, 2 were adopted from Haiti and her youngest has Downs Syndrome.
She graduated #1 in her class at Notre Dame Law School, clerked for Justice Scalia, was a professor of law at Notre Dame Law School, and since 2017 has sat on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
IF AMY CONY BARRETT WAS A LIBERAL WOMAN, THE MEDIA WOULD HAIL HER AS THE ROLE MODEL OF ROLE MODELS FOR YOUNG WOMEN!!!
God orchestrated this moment in human history for Donald Trump to be President, 53 Republicans in the US Senate, and an opening for Amy Cony Barrett to sit on the US Supreme Court.
No man can stop what God has ordained!!!

News Media Declares That Biden’s Debate Performance Tomorrow Was Great

News Media Declares That Biden’s Debate Performance Tomorrow Was Great [Satire] By Andrew Klavan

The volatile US presidential election enters a fierce new stage this week when Donald Trump and Joe Biden hold their first debate -- a television spectacle finally allowing Americans to witness the two antagonists head to head.
The news media is ecstatic about how well Joe Biden did in tomorrow’s debate.
According to the New York Times, a former newspaper:
“Biden’s performance tomorrow was masterful as for ninety full minutes, against all expectations, he managed to stand on his feet and utter words so that one could only compare him to John F. Kennedy who also stood for ninety minutes and also uttered words.
Donald Trump had spent much of the run-up to the contest making fun of the fact that the former Vice President has barely left his basement and has never been asked a difficult question, but all that so-called humor ended tomorrow when Biden absolutely crushed the bumptious incumbent by never once making the sort of gaffe in the future that he has repeatedly made in the past.”
CNN’s Brian Stelter was so impressed with Biden’s performance tomorrow that he had to go to bed early and sob with gratitude into his My Little Pony pillowcase.
In a private conversation with his dolly Buttercup, Stelter said, “Biden’s performance Tuesday was so spectacular, I just can’t wait for Monday to end so Tuesday can be here.
Many people say that CNN is biased, or one-sided, or so intellectually corrupt that a living brain cell would die of toxic dishonesty if it even wandered by one of our studios, but no one of any political stripe could disagree that Biden delivered one of the greatest debate performances tomorrow that anyone could have imagined or is imagining right this moment.”
At NBC News, Chuck Todd could only shake his head in wonder at how well Biden did tomorrow. He said, “As everyone knows, I am an honest, straight-down-the-middle, take-no-sides journalist of the old school, but from my perspective on this Monday, I have to say Tuesday was a Biden triumph all around.”
Donald Trump called for Biden to be tested for drugs, but the Biden campaign said the drugs would’ve worn off by tomorrow when Biden won so that made no sense.

You Have an Anointing From: Today God Is First by Os Hillman September 28, 2020

"As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit - just as it has taught you, remain in him" (1 John 2:27).
Do you know your anointing? An anointing is a gift that functions easily when it is operating in you to benefit others and the Kingdom of God. If one has to "work it up" one has probably gone outside one's anointing.
One area that I have a God-given anointing is in networking. I have never sought to develop such an anointing. But I know a LOT of people. Despite being an introvert by nature, God has connected me with people all around the world. Many times people call me about something and my natural response is, "Oh, you need to contact so and so. He can help you with that." A mentor once said to me, "Your inheritance is in relationships." What he was saying is that my anointing is in relationships and networking.
Where do you move naturally in your life? What do you do that you don't have to work at it? Chances are that is your anointing. God wants you to walk in the anointing he has given to you.

Thoughts on Today's Verse

"So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him." Hebrews 9:28

Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware
Jesus is coming back! Are you ready? Are you waiting?
My Prayer...
Come Lord Jesus, your bride awaits you! Amen. (see 1 Corinthians 16:22 & Revelation 21:2, 9; 22:17)

Judge Ourselves

In the eyes of the world, she was a trailblazer,

a heroine for equal rights and equal pay, but

how does she measure up from an eternal

perspective?

We are not given the right to judge her, but we

should judge ourselves in the light of eternal

truth and ultimate justice.
