Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91

Our Healer

OUR HEALER I am sending this because many of you have a friend or family member, or you yourself are at the threshold of death because of a devastating disease or injury. This comes to remind all of you that JESUS is not only our SAVIOR but also our HEALER. Years ago, when we lived in a foreign country, we had our weekly phone call back home. We had called a relative whose mother was gravely ill and in the hospital. The next morning, I had a note to her mother in the mail. In essence it said that JESUS was healing her. As it happened, the note arrived on the day that the doctor had her death certificate filled out. The only thing that was not included was the precise time of her demise. When her doctor stopped by, the woman was sitting up in bed, chatting with her nurse. The doctor said, "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?" She said, "I don't know, but this note came that said JESUS is healing me and now I'm fine." JESUS IS STILL IN THE HEALING BUSINESS! Don't allow doubt or fear to overcome your absolute confidence in HIM. Right now, I pray for any who are sick: LORD JESUS, YOU see YOUR child and YOU know the pronouncement that has been made over him/her. YOUR child is a person of faith and he/she is ready to be with YOU in his/her eternal home, but, if YOU will, YOU may permit him/her more time to be here -- with his/her family, living his/her faith, showing the world what his/her JESUS can do. We ask YOU to touch this person and to deliver him/her from the disease that is ravishing his/her body. We ask YOU to raise him/her up, whole and completely recovered. We will give YOU all the praise and all the honor and all the glory either way, but we hope YOU will show YOURSELF to still be in the healing business. It is in YOUR MIGHTY, MATCHLESS NAME WE PRAY, JESUS. AMEN. "THE SAME POWER THAT RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD LIVES IN YOU." Romans 8:11 Teach us to use the power that YOU have given to us effectively, DEAR LORD AND SAVIOR AND HEALER, JESUS CHRIST, ALMIGHTY, HOLY, INCOMPARABLE GOD!

Guests Under 16 Banned

Guests Under 16 Banned The owner of a Chick-fil-A in a suburb of Philadelphia is banning guests under 16 years old from patronizing the fast-food restaurant after unaccompanied youth repeatedly attacked the popular eatery. In a lengthy statement, the operators of the Royersford location explained they “contemplated long and hard” the decision to block unaccompanied minors from dining in the restaurant, writing, “We want to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our guests and our staff, and also to protect our building. Therefore, we cannot allow this to continue.” Listen to the latest episode of CBN’s Quick Start podcast 👇 The statement outlined some of the problems the teenagers have been causing, including being loud and using explicit language, making fun of employees, mistreating restaurant property by leaving messes and vandalizing the bathrooms, as well as exhibiting “unsafe behaviors” while in the parking lot. “As you can imagine, this is not a pleasant experience,” read the statement. “We want to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our guests and our staff, and also to protect our building. Therefore, we cannot allow this to continue. As a result, to dine in our restaurant, anyone under the age of 16 is required to be accompanied by an adult. If not accompanied by an adult, they may come in to purchase food, but must take it to go.” Aware of the frustration this decision might cause, the Chick-fil-A owner apologized to those unaccompanied minors who are not causing problems but will nevertheless be forced to leave because of the disruptions caused by others in their age category. The restaurant also made clear it is not blaming parents for the problem. “Parents, we are not blaming you,” read the statement. “Children and teens are learning to navigate the world free from supervision and often push the boundaries. We simply can’t let them push those boundaries anymore at our restaurant. We encourage you to talk to your children and ask about behaviors they have seen and perhaps participated in.” Several commenters expressed support for the Chick-fil-A franchise — but suggested parents are, at least in part, responsible for the problematic behaviors of the children coming into the restaurant. “I can tell this was well thought out,” wrote one Facebook user. “Your post is very well written. I don’t blame you for making this decision, however difficult it may be. Thanks for thinking about the families.” Another added, “How can you say you can’t blame the parents? It all starts in the home[.] Parents want to be their kids’ best friend instead of being a parent and take some responsibility on actions done by the kids.” “When one can’t behave, they lose privileges,” commented a third person. “I agree with all your reasons for reaching this decision. Protect your business.”

Your Gas Stove and Your Freedom

Your Gas Stove and Your Freedom by Bill Wilson In September, California’s clean air agency approved a proposal to ban new natural gas-fueled furnaces and water heaters in homes by 2030. Now, the Biden Administration is getting into the act. On February 1, the Department of Energy, under the auspices of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, sought comments on a proposal to ban “gas cooking tops” that have a constant burning pilot light and require that gas stoves and require stoves that have an “active mode, standby mode, and off mode energy use.” This is on the heals of The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) opening up a comment period to set new emission standards which would lead to banning natural gas stoves. The Department of Energy (DOE) says it will cost the gas stove industry only $183.4 million for the conversion to non-pilot stoves. DOE says “the proposed energy conservation standards for consumer conventional cooking products would save a significant amount of energy.” Overall, DOE estimates that over 30 years, the energy saved would be about 3.4 percent. That doesn’t seem really significant. Some of the math in the DOE proposal seems suspect, such as a $1.71 billion savings to a value of operating cost savings verse increased product and installation costs for consumers over a 30 year period. DOE, however, says the climate, health, and social costs benefits are estimated at $2.8 billion, but admits there is no single central point estimate or ability to “monetize” estimates for such effects. In other words, the DOE is guessing. The standards the DOE is proposing would eliminate about half of the gas stoves in America. the DOE “estimates that nearly half of the total gas cooking top market currently achieves EL 2 and therefore would not be impacted by the proposed standard, if finalized.”According to the DOE’s math, eliminating half of the gas stoves in America for a 3.4 percent energy savings over 30 years is worth making citizens buy new stoves—costing at the current rate about $1,000 each. But not to worry. Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act includes $4.5 billion of your taxpayer money in rebates of up to $840 for an electric stove or other electric appliances, and up to $500 to help cover the costs of converting to electric from gas. That’s how serious this Administration is about banning gas stoves. This is an example of how non-elected bureaucratic agencies limit, frustrate, and molest your freedoms. They do it every day in most every agency. It wasn’t long ago that the government was saying that natural gas/propane was the environmentally acceptable alternative to oil. Now it’s all about electric and green energy—or more honestly wealth redistribution at the expense of freedom. Gas stoves, a small thing with big implications. This ban is sort of like the mustard seed in Christ’s parable in Matthew 13:32, “which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.” Instead of faith, however, this seed is one of tyranny the birds nesting in it are vultures of liberty.

Achan's Sin

Achan’s Sins by Dr. D. James Kennedy “When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them . . .” Joshua 7:21 Have you ever looked at a glossy home-decorating magazine and found that the home you felt thankful for an hour ago now seems junky? Or perhaps you saw a television ad for a slick car, and suddenly the car in your driveway now seems like a jalopy. Advertisements often lead us into covetousness. Of course, we need to provide for our families; and we don’t sin when we seek to care for our needs. But we do sin when we desire the things of this world, desire them so strongly that we dwell on how we can obtain them. Sometimes we want something so dearly that we’re even willing to break one or more of God’s commandments to get it. Achan, an Israelite at the time of Joshua’s conquest, exemplifies the seductive power of covetousness. Before the Israelites stormed Jericho, Joshua told everyone that everything in that city was devoted to destruction, that the wrath of God would fall upon the city because of the inhabitants’ sins. Later the Israelites attacked the little town of Ai, but the inhabitants of this small town defeated the Israelites, killing many of them. Joshua sought the Lord to find out why Israel had lost, and God told him that there was sin in the camp. Joshua then sought out the sin, and Achan confessed that in Jericho he had coveted some riches, so he took them and buried them under his tent. Achan’s covetousness cost him dearly—it cost him his family and his life. When we covet, we actually rebel against God’s provision for us. God has given us so much already, and if we ever have a need, He fulfills it. As we trust God, we see His hand at work in our lives, providing so richly for us. The antidote for covetousness is contentment with God’s blessings. How are you doing in the area of covetousness? If you find that you want something, submit it to God. Trust Him to provide it for you if you need it and be content with all He has given you now.

The Water of Life in Us

“We all have a spigot to the water of life in us” The continuous revival services that began at Asbury University on February 8 have come to a close. A Fox News article reports that the revival brought over fifty thousand visitors to the services, including students from over two hundred schools. When the daily services concluded, one student said, “We don’t want to stop this. Why would we want to stop something that is so good and so pure? What God wants us to do now is take this, take what we’ve experienced and take everything that God has filed with us and to move and to go out with it.” This is apparently happening. According to the Fox News article, “The revival had already caused ripple effects, not just throughout the nation but throughout the world. Whispers of revivals have cropped up in local news stories across the globe. In some areas, the whispers have turned into song and prayer.” One Asbury student is not surprised: “We all have a spigot to the water of life in us. We just have to learn to open it and pour it out wherever we go.” “It’s something that no one ever expected” The spontaneous nature of the Asbury Revival is especially noteworthy. One Asbury employee said, “We have been crying out for a revival here at Asbury for the past ten to twenty years. And to be part of the generation that brought it into being is just remarkable. It’s something that no one ever expected.” New York Times columnist Ross Douthat’s weekend article amplifies this theme. He cites an 1822 letter in which Thomas Jefferson wrote, “I trust that there is not a young man now living in the US who will not die an Unitarian.” However, less than a year earlier, a young man named Charles Grandison Finney had a transformative encounter with Jesus. As Douthat writes, “This experience set Finney on a path that would help bury Jefferson’s confident hypothesis—toward leadership in an age of revivalism, the Second Great Awakening, that forged the form of evangelical Christianity that would bestride nineteenth-century America.” Douthat then applied his point to the current context: “Whatever the Asbury Revival’s long-term impact, the history of Finney and Jefferson is a reminder that religious history is shaped as much by sudden irruptions as long trajectories, as much by the mystical and personal as by the institutional and sociological.” He concluded: “If you’re imagining a renewal for American Christianity, all the best laid plans—the pastoral strategies, theological debates, and long-term trendlines—may matter less than something happening in some obscure place or to some obscure individual, in whose visions an entirely unexpected future might be taking shape.” “You really cannot stop something that you didn’t start” The reason movements of God are unpredictable is that God is unpredictable. Here’s why: “God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God” (1 Corinthians 1:28–29). The Asbury Revival is an example of God's surprising, omnipotent grace. If you can predict it, control it, and take credit for it, God probably didn’t do it. When Asbury President Kevin Brown was asked about the “end” of the revival, he wisely replied, “You really cannot stop something that you didn’t start.” What Jesus did with Galilean fishermen, tax collectors, and persecutors of his church, He wants to do today with your life. To the degree that you are holistically surrendered to His will (Romans 12:1–2), you will be able to testify, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Can God use your life to forge an “entirely unexpected future” for our secularized culture? Can Jesus send you anywhere to do anything? If not, why not?

Night to Shine

Night to Shine The Tim Tebow Foundation sponsored its annual “Night to Shine” last Friday evening. The event was designed to give a prom experience centered on God’s love to people with special needs. Daniel Ritchie, one of the presenters, was born without arms. At his birth, when he was not breathing, the doctor asked his father, “Do you want us to let him go?” He grew up to become a speaker and author who earned two college degrees and is married with two children. He eats, drives, and writes with his feet. Ritchie notes: “These people with special needs are just that—incredibly special in both the eyes of God and in our eyes.” Tim Tebow has a similar story: because his mother’s placenta was not attached at the time of his birth, doctors urged his mother to abort him. The doctor who delivered him described his survival as “the greatest miracle [he had] ever seen.” Ritchie and Tebow survived our culture’s instrumentalist worldview: people have value to the degree that they function in and contribute to society. You are what you earn and possess, how you look, and how well you perform. By contrast, as St. Augustine noted, God loves each of us as if there were only one of us. In recent days, he has been making this fact clear in surprising ways. “We all have a spigot to the water of life in us”

Prayer for Revival

Prayer for Revival LORD JESUS, Thank YOU for the outpouring of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT that is occurring at Asbury College in Kentucky. We ask YOU to hear the prayers of YOUR other children who are crying out for a mighty move of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT in their own churches, in their own families, and in their own hearts. We hunger and thirst after YOU, JESUS. We ask YOU to let YOUR HOLY SPIRIT move upon this land that was laid at YOUR feet at its inception and to turn the hearts and minds of our people back to their FIRST LOVE -- back to YOU. We ask YOU to turn the hearts and minds of our citizens, no matter their origin, no matter their current religious persuasion, no matter their lack of faith, back to the GOD of our founding fathers who dedicated their land to YOU. We ask YOU to fill the minds of criminals with a hunger for redemption. We ask YOU to fill the hearts of abortionists with love for life. We ask YOU to fill the minds of politicians with integrity and honor. We ask YOU to fill the hearts of teachers with a desire to share truth with the young ones in their charge. We ask YOU to fill the hearts of parents with a longing to see their children bow at the foot of the cross. We ask YOU to fill the hearts of enemies with true love for one another, even as YOUR WORD admonishes us to "LOVE YOUR ENEMIES." We ask YOU, JESUS, that the revival in Asbury will engulf this nation from sea to sea -- and spread from here to every corner of the earth. It is in YOUR MIGHTY NAME, JESUS, that we pray. Amen.

The Whole Armor of GOD

Putting On The Armor Of God by Dr. D. James Kennedy “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13 Do you ever feel that life is a battle for which you are ill-prepared, defenseless against the enemy’s attacks? In Ephesians, Paul tells us that we fight spiritual battles daily and that we can win only by calling upon a strength beyond our own. So Paul exhorts us to put on the whole armor of God every day. Each piece of armor has a special purpose to protect us from Satan’s blows. The first piece is the belt of truth. Satan’s first line of attack is against the truth, confusing us with lies so that we give in. Look at Eve. Satan confused her about what God said regarding the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But when we trust in absolute truth, Satan can never defeat us. Over our hearts we place the breastplate of righteousness. We put on Christ’s righteousness to guard our hearts and keep them pure. Our own righteousness would be but a rusty breastplate full of gaping holes. Feeble and decaying, it would allow the enemy to penetrate and corrupt our good intentions. On our feet, we wear sturdy shoes made of the gospel of peace. These shoes enable us to march forward comfortably and at a steady pace. They keep our footing sure on any kind of rough or shaky ground. We also take up the shield of faith. This shield wards off Satan’s fiery darts of lust and doubt before they get close enough to destroy and consume us. To protect our heads, we wear the helmet of salvation. It keeps us rejoicing in the hope of our salvation and gives us additional strength when we feel weak. Last but definitely not least, we pick up the Word of God, the sword of the Spirit, which we use offensively in hand-to-hand combat with Satan. We can attack Satan with Scriptures that overpower him. Notice that none of these pieces protect our backs. We don’t need that protection because, with God’s armor on, we need never and should never retreat. Every day we must prayerfully put on each piece of armor and “stand” ready for whatever comes. We face spiritual battle daily, and on some days it can be intense. None of us can face today’s spiritual battles without the protection of God’s armor. You can anticipate spiritual battle today. Ask God to prepare you, dressing you in His armor so that He may use you and so that you may live victoriously.

10 Foods You May Not Be Able To Buy In The Grocery Store In 2023—Stock Up Before They’re Gone

Anonymous Quote

“One can be a miser or a savage and be selfish, but not a Christian.” Anonymous

Escape from Selfishness

Escape From Selfishness by Dr. D. James Kennedy “. . . and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” — 2 Corinthians 5:15 Have you ever pondered what gives us the impulse to sin? Have you ever wondered what makes us go against God’s commands despite our good intentions? I believe that selfishness lies at the root of all sin. I have thought long and hard about this, and I cannot think of any sin that doesn’t originate from selfishness, from placing self rather than God at the center of our lives. Some have suggested that perhaps a person who steals or lies for his child does not act from selfishness, yet our family is bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh, merely an extension of ourselves. So I believe that whatever the sin— lust, hate, pride, theft, murder—at its core, it stems from selfishness. Even good actions are tarnished by selfish motives. A person may study how to win friends and influence people, work hard at self-improvement, and join a church and become active in it, yet all of these acts may spring from purely selfish motives. Paul exhorts us to something higher. He says, “I am crucified with Christ.” Not only is the Cross a substitution, it is a representation—we must identify ourselves with Christ in His death, crucifying our selfish nature and desires with Him. When we die with Christ, we put to death all our hopes, ambitions, agendas, priorities, and plans. We nail all we desire to the cross, becoming dead to ourselves. Paul tells us in Romans 6 that we are to reckon ourselves dead with Christ. We must become dead to the flesh and alive in Christ. The next time temptation pulls at you, remember that you have died to sin and become alive in Christ. You have no obligation to your old nature, except to reckon it as dead. This is how we escape from selfishness, the fountainhead of all sin.

Awakening Continues

Awakening Reaches Tennessee Middle School and 3 New Colleges in PA, MO, KY; 27 Give Their Lives to Christ on 1 Campus Steve Warren "There is a beautiful move of the Holy Spirit happening at UVF - University of Valley Forge right now... Jesus is at work in the hearts and lives of those waiting in His Presence. Thankful for His grace & kindness, 'Better is one day in Your house than a thousand elsewhere.'" -Carrie Brooks, Facebook, UVF [CBN News] The revival fires from the Asbury University Awakening continue to spread to college campuses across the country. According to several reports, the Holy Spirit outpouring has reached two more colleges in Pennsylvania and Missouri as well as a middle school in Tennessee. (Image: Grace Christian Academy-Facebook) Author and evangelist Rick Curry posted to social media on Wednesday with the news of a revival starting on the campus of the University of Valley Forge in Phoenixville, PA. "GREAT NEWS! Valley Forge College in Pennsylvania is still in Chapel service since 11AM AND school has cancelled classes for TOMORROW! 'There is a move of God coming no building can contain and no ministry will control!' Report from trusted friend!" Founded in 1939, the University of Valley Forge is a private Christian university and is part of an international network of Assemblies of God colleges and universities. Dr. Michael Yeager of Jesus is Lord Ministries shared a photo and a short video on YouTube about the early stages of revival underway at the school. Yeager, who administers the Facebook group Smith Wigglesworth, shared a message, an image, and a short video from YouTube, with the headline "REVIVAL HITTING VALLEY FORGE COLLEGE." "Carrie Brooks: There is a beautiful move of the Holy Spirit happening at UVF - University of Valley Forge right now... Jesus is at work in the hearts and lives of those waiting in His Presence. Thankful for His grace & kindness, 'Better is one day in Your house than a thousand elsewhere'," Yeager shared. There are also reports of the Holy Spirit moving at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri. Shane Pruitt, the national Next Gen director for the North American Mission Board (NAMB), tweeted a photo of students worshipping together on Wednesday night. "Full house at @HLGuniversity on a Wednesday night," Pruitt wrote. In a follow-up tweet, Pruitt reported 8 students responded to the Gospel for salvation. Pruitt delivered the Gospel message at a service in the school's chapel earlier Wednesday morning. "Many of the faculty, staff, and students stayed after chapel to continue praying together!" he reported. Then later Wednesday night, many more people at the university responded to the Gospel. "19 more people got saved at Hannibal LaGrange University tonight!!!" Pruitt tweeted. Meanwhile, spontaneous worship and prayer have reportedly begun at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky. The Christian Post (CP) reports the prayer and worship gathering on the campus hasn't stopped since it started on Monday. Cumberlands Campus Minister Jacob Ratliff told the outlet that while he "would hesitate to call it a revival at this point," he nevertheless said he was "seeing significant evidence of the Lord's work at UC." "We have been encouraged by our students' desires to see Christ exalted. They have organized two worship gatherings that have been impactful for our campus and local community," Ratliff said. Ratliff told the CP the movement on the UC campus can be traced directly back to Asbury University located just 101 miles to the northwest. "Students present at Asbury on Thursday night received intentional prayer from Asbury faculty and students which encouraged them to come back and organize the worship night on Monday," he explained. Since the Monday evening service that saw around 4,000 students and other community members in attendance, there have been several informal prayers meetings as well as worship gatherings on the UC campus, according to the CP. But it seems this Awakening is not just limiting itself to college campuses. Grace Christian Academy, a middle school in Knoxville, Tennessee reported the results of the school's annual Discipleship Days in a recent Facebook post. "WHAT A WEEK! The Holy Spirit has filled rooms and lives on campus this week as we welcomed alumni back on campus to lead #discipleshipdays. Incredible messages, intense worship, and nearly 30 lives eternally changed! Please join us in prayer that the Spirit will continue to move in the lives of our students in the weeks and months to come. We thank the Master, we thank the Savior, we thank God!" the school wrote. On Friday, the academy, a ministry of the Grace Baptist Church, also experienced an unplanned worship service on its campus. Several students led prayer, and shared testimonies and professions of faith, according to the CP.

JESUS Made a Difference in My Life

Patrick Ryan, USA TODAY Thu, February 23, 2023 at 2:51 PM GMT Kelsey Grammer won five Emmys and three Golden Globes for his work in "Frasier," "The Simpsons" and "Boss." But the decorated actor says his greatest work might be the Christian drama "Jesus Revolution" (in theaters Friday). Don't believe him? Just ask his wife, Kayte Walsh. "It's really uplifting. It's a good movie," Grammer says. "My wife and I saw it together. She was just dissolved in tears and said, 'It's the best thing you've ever done.' " In the faith-based film, Grammer portrays real-life pastor Chuck Smith, who with the help of street preacher Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie) reignited his struggling church by inviting young hippies and rock music into the fold. Grammer himself was raised Christian Scientist and remembers the "Jesus movement" of the 1960s and '70s. "They were energized and optimistic, and I thought that was a great thing to see," says Grammer, 68, who will next star in the Paramount+ revival of "Frasier" later this year. He tells us more about the movie and his scrapped ABC comedy with Alec Baldwin, who is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter in a shooting death on the "Rust" movie set. (Edited and condensed for clarity.) Question: What did you find most radical about the way Chuck welcomed the counterculture into the church? Kelsey Grammer: What Chuck did went back to one of the basic precepts of Christianity, which is inclusion. He thought, "Well, I'm doing it this way and people aren't listening," so he finally surrendered. He said, "You show me a hippie and I'll listen." Sure enough, it became a very dynamic relationship between him and Lonnie Frisbee. It became a great adventure, which is still going on. His (Calvary Chapel) church branched into 1,000 churches around the country, and it still exists. Christian contemporary music is going gangbusters, and (the Jesus movement) put that at his doorstep. Were you a "square" growing up, as they say in the film? Or were you more of a hippie? I was squarish, but I also thrived in the more current movements of my generation at the time. (Laughs.) I had long hair, I was a surfer, but I also was a pretty dedicated scholar. I wasn't a pothead, as we used to call it – I was sort of a standard alcoholic yahoo. I'd go and have a beer or two, you know? I celebrated with my peers the idea that we could love each other and love well, and that it would enhance our lives. I think that's the most attractive part of this movement still. There's a religious component of it through Christ, but Christ was the first hippie. "Love your enemies" – I mean, that's extraordinary stuff. How has your own relationship to faith evolved over the years? I've had hiccups. I've had some tragic times. I have wrestled with those and worked my way through them: sometimes rejecting faith, sometimes rejecting God even, in a period of being pretty angry about it, like, "Where were you?" That kind of thing. But I have come to terms with it and have found great peace in my faith and in Jesus. It's not cavalier – Jesus made a difference in my life. That's not anything I'll apologize for. As someone who enjoyed you and Alec Baldwin on NBC's "30 Rock," I was disappointed when ABC passed on your planned sitcom a couple of years ago. I was sad to see that, too. It was a good show. Whatever – they make their decisions based on what they think is important. We were funny, I think people would've really enjoyed it. And so much has happened since then. I love Alec. We are from contrary sides of the political aisle, but that doesn't actually mean anything, honestly. We're like-minded people. (Laughs.) That's what's important and there sure was some funny stuff. Have you been in touch at all with Alec this past year? No. My heart goes out to everyone involved. A difficult thing has happened, and consequences come along for the ride. I'm here and I'm still a friend of his. I hope it all goes as it's meant to go. Although the ABC show didn't pan out, did it ultimately open the door for you to do a "Frasier" revival? "Frasier" was in the works at the same time. It's going to be on Paramount+ and I'm thrilled. I'm excited to play Frasier again. He's pretty seamless – he went right back on like a nice set of clothes. Sideshow Bob (voiced by Kelsey Grammer), left, and Bart (Nancy Cartwright) in a 2015 Halloween episode of Fox's "The Simpsons." Sideshow Bob (voiced by Kelsey Grammer), left, and Bart (Nancy Cartwright) in a 2015 Halloween episode of Fox's "The Simpsons." Aside from Frasier Crane, is there an unexpected role people recognize you for? Certainly Sideshow Bob (from "The Simpsons") lives forever. He'll go on who knows how long. Thousands of years from now, people may be worshipping Sideshow Bob. He's an extraordinary character. Tom Kane from (Starz drama) "Boss" was also a great character. One of my favorites. I played the mayor of Chicago and got some nice kudos for that performance. And then unfortunately, (the show got canceled after two seasons). We had about five seasons laid out that I think would have been pretty eye-opening television, but we didn't have a chance to finish it.

Spiritual Warfare

We are Fighting a Spiritual Battle; It's Time We Start Acting Like We're at War Sean Feucht- Spiritual warfare is real, and the evidence is everywhere. [Sean Feucht-blog] Much of the enemy's agenda is subtle or subliminal. But other times, the enemy is so bold and brazen as to bring the spiritual battlefield mainstream. (Screengrab image) ...America witnessed a full-blown satan-worshiping orgy at the Grammys. There is no denying that we are in an intense spiritual battle as a culture and as a nation. The Grammys incident is just the latest public demonic attack. Last year, we saw the Balenciaga ad campaign sexualize children. There is an ongoing agenda to confuse children into mutilating their bodies in the name of trans-ideology. The satanic Temple even filed a lawsuit in support of religious freedom, by claiming that abortion is a "satanic ritual." [The recent] State of the Union highlighted just how much abortion is championed when [Biden] proclaimed, "Make no mistake about it: If Congress passes a national abortion ban, I will veto it," as multiple Democrat legislators wore loathsome abortion pins. While some in the Church are just waking up to our reality, those of us who read the Bible have known this—"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." [Recently], while in DC, we lifted up a sound of worship inside the rotunda of the US Capitol Building. There was a marked shift that we could feel in the atmosphere. Worship changes things in the spirit and in the world. When we worship, we are not just playing music where the sound is contained by the walls of the room—we are lifting up an incense that reaches Heaven. The Israelites sent Judah first in the Old Testament to worship before the battle, not because it sounded nice, nor because it was a symbolic gesture, but because their battle was ultimately spiritual, and it was the very thing that defeated their enemies. The weapons God has given us to fight with are spiritual weapons—The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (Image: Pixabay) Where are all the prominent Church leaders who have a platform speaking out against this? If Christians are too soft to speak out against SATAN, what will they speak out against, if anything at all? We need boldness in this hour. We desperately need courage. We are at war, and while we know we serve a God who is already victorious, we must continue to stay in the fight for His name's sake!

Prayer for Revival

'THE SAME HOLY SPIRIT THATS IN ASBURY IS IN YOUR CITY' LORD JESUS, Thank YOU for the outpouring of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT that is occurring at Asbury College in Kentucky. Amen.

From Unbelief to Steadfast Faith

Beloved Christian novelist Karen Kingsbury has inspired and enthralled readers for decades, selling tens of millions of copies of her celebrated books. Kingsbury, whose upcoming TV series “A Thousand Tomorrows” will premiere Feb. 24 on Pure Flix, has increasingly been adding to her literary prowess to tell powerful stories through movies and shows. “‘A Thousand Tomorrows’ is a standalone book. It was one of my favorites that … I wrote a number of years ago,” the author told CBN’s Faithwire and “The Prodigal Stories Podcast.” “It is about an angry bull rider and a sick barrel racer, and a love story that really never should have happened.” Now, that story is being given new life on Pure Flix. Watch the trailer for “A Thousand Tomorrows”: With the series soon-to-hit, Kingsbury also spoke about her new company, Karen Kingsbury Productions, an endeavor that allows her to create even more movies and TV shows based on her work. For years, others have approached Kingsbury and adapted her novels; now, she’ll have the chance to spearhead projects and take the reigns of creative control. Her first theatrical is set to release in the fall. In addition to Kingsbury’s current projects, she also spoke about her faith journey, explaining how she grew up in a “great family,” but didn’t attend church as a child or engage much with Scripture. “We didn’t really go to church very often, I’d never opened a bible, did not have a relationship with Jesus,” she said. Listen to Kingsbury share her story and path to Christ: But things changed as a young adult when Kingsbury met Don Russell while working out at the gym. She was instantly intrigued, recalling how he was a clean-cut guy who didn’t party — something she found to be quite rare at the time. After they met and chatted, Russell asked her a question that seemed pretty surprising. “[He said, ‘I] was wondering if I could please bring a Bible to our date … we could like read the Bible first,'” Kingsbury recalled. “And, I mean, honestly I thought, ‘That’s the craziest thing I’d ever heard.'” She reluctantly agreed and listened quite disinterestedly to the reading. Over the following months, Russell kept bringing that Bible along and starting spiritual conversations with Kingsbury — but her response remained pretty tepid. “I was like, really, this is just exhausting … I felt uneasy,” she said, noting how she now believes this awkwardness was the conviction of the Holy Spirit. “After three months, we had this big fight about it.” Kingsbury told Russell she was done going over Scripture with him — and then she did something pretty shocking: she tossed the Bible on the ground. “There was this day, this sunny afternoon — we were standing outside his car looking at the Bible, and I just took his highlighted, precious Bible and I threw it on the ground,” she said. “And … the binding actually split … we just kind of both were frozen.” Listen to the latest episode of CBN’s Quick Start podcast 👇 Russell picked up the pieces of his Bible and drove off, but Kingsbury, undissuaded, found herself with a new mission in mind: proving her way of living was just as good as Russell’s biblically-minded existence. “I thought, ‘You know, I’m going to prove to him that my man-made ways of thinking … my way of life was … the right way,” she said. “So, I thought, ‘I need to go get a Bible so I can argue with him and debate this. I need to understand what it is.'” Kingsbury went to a Christian bookstore, bought a Bible and a Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, and dove right in; what she discovered sent shockwaves through her heart and mind. “I began to read, and it was speaking straight to my heart,” she explained. “And I could hear God say, ‘Karen, you have a choice. This is a crossroads in your life. You can either hold onto your man-made ways, and you can fall apart with them, or you can grab onto my word and never let go.'” Kingsbury chose to cling to the Lord, Russell forgave her, and the rest is, well, history. “We’ve been married 35 years and Jesus is everything to us,” she said. “And our life and our worldview and our storytelling and everything we do is anchored on His Word.”

Dangers of Astrology

Dangers of Astrology Ex-astrologer Marcia Montenegro is on a mission to warn people about horoscopes, divination, and the many ways people turn to sources outside of God to try and find “truth.” Listen to the latest episode of CBN’s Quick Start podcast 👇 “[Divination is] when you’re seeking information supernaturally, but outside of God, outside of God’s will,” host Jenn Nizza explained at the start of the most recent “Ex-Psychic Saved Podcast.” “God absolutely condemns it.” Montenegro agreed, noting divination is an attempt to get information “beyond the normal means,” and noting it can take the form of turning to Tarot cards, astrology, numerology, and tea-leaf reading, among other practices. She went on to speak about the fact some will try to use the Bible to validate astrology — the belief celestial bodies have an impact on human affairs — or act as though using the stars to predict the future somehow comports with the Gospel. Listen to Montenegro warn about divination and horoscopes and share her journey: “A lot of Christians…get confused over it,” Montenegro said, explaining why astrology and the Bible simply don’t mix. She specifically clarified the differences between astrology and astronomy. “Astrology and astronomy are two different things. Astronomy is a science, and it’s based on observation of data,” she said. “They are observing the heavenly bodies … and it’s strictly concerned with facts and trying to figure things out about those heavenly bodies.” Montenegro continued. “Astrology is focused on the idea that there’s a meaning there.” As a former professional astrologer, she recounted being so “in” on her beliefs that she once refused to sign an apartment lease while mercury was in retrograde, fearing what might happen if she did. Mercury retrograde is an optical illusion that unfolds a few times each year and appears to show mercury moving backward in its orbit. When mercury laps earth in its 88-day move around the sun, it causes mercury’s appearance to be retrograde from earth’s perspective. Astrologists believe happenings in the sky impact life on earth. Thus, mercury retrograde has people engaging in speculation and superstition over purported disruptions they think it can cause. With that belief in mind, Montenegro was afraid to sign the lease. Flash-forward to today, though, and she is a Christian who pushes back against the beliefs she once held dear. “What astrology is … it’s a form of divination, because you’re reading a meaning into the planets that isn’t there,” she said. “Astrology … looks kind of innocent to a lot of people, because it’s so common … the internet has made this information more accessible.” But Montenegro explained precisely why it’s anything but innocent, and sounded the alarm over the prevalence of such content on the internet today. “[Generation Z is] captivated by all this and, because of the internet, it’s so very accessible. You could go online and find an astrologer,” she said. “Because it’s more accessible, and more popular, and more mainstream, people don’t realize what it really is.” Montenegro continued, “Behind all this kind of glitzy, kind of interesting, fun facts about ‘who you are’ is this belief system that’s set up completely opposed to God and denounced by God.” She likened horoscopes and astrology to a pretty house that looks gorgeous on the outside but, upon looking inside, is dilapidated. While it seems innocent and fun, she said astrology is plagued by darkness. “It looks gorgeous on the outside and it has maybe a beautiful wreath on the door and the lights are glowing in the window and you think, ‘Oh, what a beautiful home!’” she said. “And then you open up the front door and you go in and it’s dark and the floors have holes in them, and there’s pieces of wood sticking up.” While astrology is often treated like a game that’s laughed off, Montenegro warned people to see it as far more sinister. “God has completely forbidden it and denounced it, so that should be the end of the story for a Christian,” she said.

The Revivals

The Revivals by Bill Wilson Many have been asking my opinion of the revivals that have been taking place on college campuses. Some have expressed skepticism. Others great hope. First, I would say that any movement of God is a great thing. These movements usually start out small and grow or die. Sometimes they grow, especially when “religious” leaders get involved and latch unto the audiences like magnets to advance their own brand. To this end, I have listened to several trusted sources who have witnessed first-hand the happenings at various places and have reported their impressions. We need our young people, who have largely rejected organized religion, to experience true Holy Spirit presence. Andrew Strom of Revival List says, “This is the kind of thing I look for in any "revival" movement. What is at the core of it? Is it repentance? Is it conviction of sin? Can we see the holiness of God at work? In my view, we can see these things clearly at Asbury--so this movement certainly has my support…I would love to see such a movement sweep through the USA and the entire Western world. God knows how much we need it!... As you may know, another famous Asbury Revival occurred on the same campus in 1970…Now, roughly 50 years later in 2023 we get another Asbury. What does this speak of? Well, to me, one thing it says loud and clear is that the 50-year cycle of Awakenings in America is NOT LOST. The 'jubilee' pattern is not broken. The potential for another Awakening is still there. And to me that is a tremendous joy and relief.” Ken Ham, CEO of Answers in Genesis, who went to Asbury to see first-hand, says “Clearly, the worship was not meant to be a show—no smoke, no mirrors, nobody obviously trying to stir up hype…So far, there seems to be room for cautious optimism based on the students’ testimonies. At this point, however, I personally prefer to err on the side of calling the phenomenon a remarkable student worship movement rather than prematurely applying other labels. We will know more by the long-term fruit.” My friends Bob and Linda Bishop visited Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where yet another outpouring is occurring. Bob writes, “Topics centered around salvation by faith and God’s love for us not being dependent on how perfect or imperfect we are. A season of spontaneous worship then broke out for a good half hour.” He continued, “As person after person would begin singing a hymn or song and others would join in. There was no leader, no one at the front facilitating, no musicians, no song leader, just the presence of the Holy Spirit and a group of people doing what is spoken of in Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts.” The presence of the Lord was sweet, and there was a palpable reverence for Him there.” Both Bob and Linda felt the leading of the Holy Spirit and the presence of the Lord. I know there are detractors and skeptics now voicing opinions of who is participating. Before judging, perhaps remember what Jesus said in Luke 5:31, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” Let us all rejoice in the Spirit and the power of the Lord.

Only the Beginning

Asbury Is Only the Beginning, 'We Decree that the Fire is Coming' Dutch Sheets What we must all remember is that this outpouring at Asbury was never intended by Holy Spirit to be the only place where revival occurs in America. What He has planned will occur all across our nation and other nations. Revival will not be confined to one organization, location, or group of people; Asbury is only a beginning. The outpouring of Holy Spirit will intensify and spread until it is a blazing fire of Holy Spirit activity throughout the land. And this will not be stopped. I am being asked about the ending of the public gatherings associated with the Asbury Revival. Like so many of you, I love seeing what Holy Spirit is doing there. The hunger of the young people is so inspiring; the coming together of the Body of Christ to support it is truly encouraging; and the strong, yet sweet, presence of Holy Spirit responding to the hunger is precious. From purely a spiritual perspective, I would love to see it continue indefinitely. However, I am aware that this is a university, not a church. There are requirements that must be met in order to maintain educational credits, decrees, etc. There are also innumerable practical issues that arise for an organization/entity that is not designed to handle what is happening there. The leaders at Asbury have to weigh all of this and determine how to steward what is occurring. They are no doubt attempting to do so with sensitivity. What we must all remember is that this outpouring at Asbury was never intended by Holy Spirit to be the only place where revival occurs in America. God's plan in the Upper Room of Acts 2 was not a revival for Jerusalem. It was an outpouring for Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the world (Acts 1:8). Likewise, what He is doing today will not be limited to one campus, one church, or one city. It will be universal, as broad as it is powerful, and it will be unprecedented. What should we who are crying out for revival do now? Leaders should make great efforts to fan the flames and feed the hunger. Plans and activities should be structured to allow Holy Spirit time and place to move. Worship and prayer should be prioritized. What is coming will be more of a presence movement than a preaching movement. This is not to minimize the need for Biblical preaching and teaching - we must have that. But an atmosphere must be created and honored that allows Holy Spirit to hover in our meetings and gatherings. He wants to pour Himself out, and this occurs as we give Him time and place. Ask Him for His strategies. Ask Him what plans we have that should be changed, and what activities may be in the way of His moving. And we must all prepare our hearts through humility and genuine hunger. Leaders must also promote unity. Whenever possible, work with other churches and groups to create the "one accord" atmosphere that draws Him. (See Acts 2) We must remember that this is not about us - our church, our ministry, our movement. It is about Christ and what He wants to do to reach people. Resist, at all costs, a competitive spirit and mindset. The Church in America has become appallingly competitive and self-centered. This must be avoided. Resist the tendency to build on programs, ideas, methods and, especially, hype. Sensationalism will build nothing of true spiritual value or longevity. Contend for Holy Spirit's presence and favor; nothing else will produce what we want to see. People, especially young people, are hungry for what is real and genuine, not for flash and hype. And whether they know it or not, they are hungry for God. Give them His presence! And I cannot emphasize strongly enough that when outpourings of Holy Spirit begin, we must steward, not control them. He will always come in unexpected ways, and people will respond similarly. They will weep; they will express great emotion; they will linger. They want to experience HIM, not simply be told about Him. If all of our gatherings are conducted in settings and atmospheres that must remain formal, carefully structured and strictly timed, we will not see what we desire. Polished and dignified atmospheres produce comfort zones, but never revival. And many churches miss Holy Spirit outpourings because they simply don't make time for Him. Don't expect Him to bow to our structures, schedules, or desires for convenience. To parents: get your kids into an atmosphere of awakening, whatever the cost. Go where it is occurring, if at all possible. And help pray it into your area - God wants to be poured out in your region. When it occurs, support it with your presence, time, and finances. Many of our children have been fed a diet of religious routines and activities, form without power, and little, if any, intimacy with God. They are unimpressed. Our young people want to truly connect with God Himself. And they crave purpose, which is only found in one's Creator. And finally, to those of you who pray, please don't stop. Our prayers are saving America. God is using them to expose evil, destructive ideologies, and impure motives. They are preparing the soil of America (and elsewhere) for the seed of the Gospel, for truth, and for great change. We are forerunners, preparing the way for Christ to come to our land. Continue to appeal. Continue to decree, releasing Kingdom authority and God's will on Earth. And continue to believe - it's working. (Screengrab image) Pray with me: Father, thank You for the lives that have changed at Asbury. Thank You for whetting our appetite for more, for showing us what happens when You begin hovering and pouring out. We are hungry and thirsty for more. Please open the spigot. Open the heavens and rain Your life, grace, and power. Give leaders in the Church Your strategies. Give us the humility, wisdom, and boldness to change ANYTHING that needs to change in order to make room for You. Give us ears to hear You, fresh revelation of what You are saying NOW. No leader learned how to birth, release, or steward revival in Bible College - because it can't be taught. We must listen, we must hear. Give us desperate hearts and hearing ears! And finally, in the words of William Booth, revivalist and founder of the Salvation Army: "Thou Christ of burning, cleansing flame, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! Thy Blood-bought gift today, we claim, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! Look down and see this waiting host, Give us the promised Holy Ghost; We want another Pentecost, send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! "God of Elijah, hear our cry: Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! To make us fit to live or die, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! To burn up every trace of sin, To bring the light and glory in, The revolution now begin, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! "'Tis fire we want, for fire we plead, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! The fire will meet our every need, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! For strength to ever do the right, For grace to conquer in the fight, For pow'r to walk the world in white, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! "To make our weak hearts strong and brave, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! To live a dying world to save, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! Oh, see us on Thy altar lay, Our lives, our all, this very day; To crown the off'ring now, we pray, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire!" (William Booth) Decree: We decree that the fire is coming.

Revival at Asbury Spreading

What's Happening at Asbury Revival; See Where It's Spreading Stephen Strang "...I went today because stories were being shared that God was pouring out His Spirit there, and it was worth a day of my time and 3+ hrs each way if I could be where God was so powerfully moving. What I (and my daughter) experienced today was a slice of what I believe Heaven will be like—and magnitudes more powerful than any church service I've EVER attended. I was thoroughly overwhelmed by testimonies of what Jesus has been doing in the lives of so many. I was moved to tears several times. I encountered the love of God, the transformational power of Jesus and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in ways that are beyond words to describe. Bad mouth it all you want. I was there. This is the real deal..." -Todd Adkins Jim Garlow was one of the first people to post about the Asbury University revival on social media when it started recently. In a follow-up interview, he explains what sounded like waves of an ocean as he stood in the wooden pews worshipping God in Hughes Auditorium. (Screengrab image: via Well Versed World /Jim Garlow /Asbury Revival) In my first conversation with Garlow, we talked about the tie between the Asbury revival and the Third Great Awakening. Now he is sharing his eyewitness view of what happened right before Asbury University announced the revival would stop on campus Wednesday, Feb. 22. "Just continual worship and praise. Bunch of students standing on the stage, and the auditorium is packed," he says. Garlow heard from officials at the revival that 25,000 people came to Wilmore, Kentucky, on Saturday. Cars were backed up 1.3 miles with "revival at capacity" signs lit up on the highway. The university opened up seven other locations on campus to fit all of those with hungry hearts driving and flying in to sit in the presence of God. "This was such a spontaneous move of God the city wasn't prepared for it," he says. Garlow recounts altars full to the brim with people weeping before the Lord, the aisles jammed to the back of the auditorium with more people waiting to get to the altar. It has been a revival of repentance. While talking with numerous people around the room, Garlow met a pastor and his wife from Chile. They sold their car so they could fly in and experience the revival. That is just one of many similar stories. In the 1970 revival, Asbury University students flew out to other campuses, and the revival spread quickly. This time, because of social media, people are coming to the campus in droves. Tucker Carlson from FOX News was planning to head out to Wilmore, Kentucky, to cover the event with lights and cameras until university officials reached out, asking him not to come. The infrastructure of the town of just 6,000 wasn't built for this kind of influx of people. What started as a normal Wednesday chapel service at Asbury University has spread to numerous other campuses across the nation. Here is a list of documented reports of revival: • Asbury University, Wilmore, Kentucky. • Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee. • Baylor University, Waco, Texas. • Ohio Christian University, Circleville, Ohio. • Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Mount Vernon, Ohio. • Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana. • The Ramp School of Ministry, Hamilton, Alabama. • Jackson High School, Jackson, Georgia. • Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio. • Bethel Austin, Austin, Texas. • Park Hill High School, Kansas City, Missouri. • Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana. • University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky. • Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. • Kentucky Christian University, Grayson, Kentucky. Garlow commends the president of Asbury University, Dr. Kevin Brown, on his tremendous efforts since the revival started on Feb. 8. "They won't even take up offerings," Garlow says. "They shut down donations to it. They don't want to touch what God has anointed. When was the last time you heard someone say they were[n't] going to take up offerings?" Brown says the university looks at this as God's gift to the world. They've kept classes going, and Garlow says their rationale is "We want this to go in the ebb and flow of our lives" to maintain normal living. "I think they have an anointing upon them," Garlow adds. This is an incredible moment in history. People are flying in from numerous other countries. "It's going to spread to that many nations," Garlow says. Garlow says this has changed his focus in ministry. He is now asking God how he can take what he has seen and experienced firsthand at Asbury University to the rest of the world.

Deion Sanders

Deion Sanders By Billy Hallowell ‘A Football Coach…Not a Pastor: NFL Legend Deion Sanders Targeted by Atheists for Alleged ‘Unconstitutional Actions’ Deion Sanders speaks after being introduced as the new head football coach at the University of Colorado during a news conference Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, in Boulder, Colo. Sanders left Jackson State University after three seasons at the helm of the school's football team. Atheist activists have set their sights on NFL legend-turned-coach Deion Sanders, targeting Sanders’ purported intermingling of “football games and events with Christianity.” The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), a secular activist group based in Madison, Wisconsin, put out a statement this week claiming they have been “successfully coaching Deion Sanders on the constitutional separation between state and religion.” The FFRF accused Sanders of “inappropriate and unconstitutional actions.” The organization waged these claims in a Jan. 24 letter to the University of Colorado, where Sanders now coaches, after purported complaints from Colorado residents over the handling of faith and football. The group said Sanders has been “engaging in religious exercises with players and staff members.” The letter, addressed to University of Colorado Boulder Chancellor Phil DiStefano, opened by expressing worries over “constitutional concerns” and “potential religious coercion through the football program.” “It is our understanding that on December 20, 2022, a staff member led other staff members in a Christian prayer to start an official meeting,” the letter reads. “More egregiously, on January 16, 2023, Coach Sanders directed a staff member to lead players and coaches in Christian prayer before a team meeting.” The FFRF then provided a purported transcription of the invocation: Lord, we thank You for this day, Father, for this opportunity as a group. Father, we thank You for the movement that God has put us in place to be in charge of. We thank You for each player here, each coach, each family. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. The letter proceeded to detail the FFRF’s arguments against Sanders’ alleged actions, and concluded by asking the University of Colorado to “take action” to protect students and let Sanders know “he has been hired as a football coach and not a pastor.” “We request that Sanders be educated as to his constitutional duties under the Establishment Clause,” the text continued. “He may not promote religion in his capacity as head coach.” The FFRF requested notification of how these sentiments would be communicated to Sanders. In a Feb. 1 update, the organization said the University of Colorado responded, explaining the college’s Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance met with Sanders to address issues, including “guidance on the boundaries in which players and coaches may and may not engage in religious expression.” “Coach Sanders was very receptive to this training and came away from it with a better understanding of the University of Colorado’s policies and the requirements of the Establishment Clause,” the response letter read. As CBN’s Faithwire has extensively reported, Sanders’ Christian faith is something he frequently discusses. In fact, he recently glorified God during an introductory press conference Dec. 4 commemorating his new head coaching position with the University of Colorado. Rather than leading with self-accolades, Sanders praised the Lord. “Wow. Don’t you ever tell me what God ain’t. Don’t you ever tell me His limits,” Sanders said. “Don’t you ever tell me what you’re up against and what you can’t do.” And he wasn’t done there, as the 55-year-old expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty. “Out of all the persons in the world, God chose me,” Sanders said. “For that, I thank Him; for that, I love Him; for that, I magnify Him; for that, I glorify Him; for that, I praise Him; for that, I owe Him. Each and every day, I’m trying to please Him.” Sanders has also been candid about his struggles. Last year, the coach shared during a podcast interview how a health struggle resulted in the amputation of two toes and a deeper reliance on his faith. His troubles began in 2021, when he was diagnosed with blood clots in his legs after a surgical procedure and needed two toes on his left foot amputated. Sanders faced weeks in the hospital and eight surgeries. Despite the dire circumstances, the football star thanked Jesus for his recovery, The Christian Post reported. “It was a blessing, because I could have lost my life very easily. … It was there. It was a thought process of losing my leg from the knee down,” Sanders told Chris Neely of “Thee Pregame Show.” “It was almost there. So when I look up and say ‘Thank you, Jesus,’ it’s because I know the quiet cries at night that were in that hospital.” Sanders said he is “thankful” to have gone through the ordeal, adding it showed him more about God and his faith. “I got to really see God’s face and the different personalities of God, I feel,” he said.

Fetterman Hospitalized

Biden praises Fetterman's 'brave and important' example of getting medical care; hospital stay may last weeks | Fox News Joe Biden issued support Friday for Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., after he checked himself into a Washington, D.C., hospital to be treated for clinical depression this week. "John, Gisele – Jill and I are thinking about your family today," Biden wrote in a tweet. "Millions of people struggle with depression every day, often in private. Getting the care you need is brave and important." "We're grateful to you for leading by example,' the president added. Reports later on Friday indicate that Fetterman may be in the hospital for several weeks as he receives treatment. Fetterman's office released a statement Thursday confirming the senator checked himself into the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Wednesday evening to "receive treatment for clinical depression." "While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks," Adam Jentleson, Fetterman's chief of staff, wrote. "On Monday, John was evaluated by Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress. Yesterday, Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed. John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis."

The Annihilation of Christians

‘The Annihilation of Christians’ Armenian Believers Cut Off from Humanitarian Aid By Billy Hallowell “The situation is now very, very serious. Indeed, it has been said by people, it may indeed be an impending genocide.” Those foreboding words from Baroness Caroline Cox, a prominent member of the U.K. House of Lords, summarize the state of affairs in Nagorno-Karabakh. It’s been more than two months since Azerbaijani protestors blocked the only road into this small, landlocked region preventing the transport of food, medicine, and other essential needs. “I’m afraid it’s a continuity of aggression by Azerbaijan against the Armenians,” Cox told CBN’s Faithwire. “The netherland of Nagorno-Karabakh was relocated by Stalin inside Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan has been trying to carry out ethnic cleansing of the Armenians from there for a long time.” As the blockade persists, the 120,000 predominantly Armenian Christians living there are suffering and pleading for assistance. “The shortage of food is now getting desperate,” Cox said. “The shortage of medicines is very, very serious, especially medicines like insulin, for people with diabetes and the transfer of patients from Karabakh into Armenia needing urgent medical treatment that has been very, very much stymied.” She continued, “It is a very dire situation indeed.” Gayane Beglarian’s 4-year-old daughter, Monika, suffers from liver cancer. Gayane recently sounded the alarm about her child being trapped inside Nagorno-Karabakh and risked missing life-saving treatment. “We were frightened,” she said. “And we were really worried about the situation, because her life depends on this treatment.” After weeks of anxiously awaiting transport, the Red Cross helped the family exit. Still, Gayane warns other ailing residents need help. “We have no necessary equipment; we have no doctors,” she said. “We don’t have doctors who can come there and have necessary treatment.” Listen to the latest episode of CBN’s Quick Start podcast 👇 Cox also warned about another element of the crisis — the potential destruction of Christian churches, historic landmarks, and entire cultures. “This could be another stage of genocide, destruction of Christian people, destruction of Christian heritage,” she said. “And we need to pray.” Cox continued, “The annihilation of Christians is very much part of the agenda of getting rid of the Christians. And that’s one of the things that the Armenians are really worried about, because they will lose part of their unique Christian heritage.” As the chaos continues, prayers for peace, eased tensions, and resolution are desperately needed.

ASBURY REVIVAL

"...My heart is for this young generation, and whatever happens from here, our deep desire is to see a life-transforming renewal of our younger generations to faithfully serve their communities, their schools, their churches, and their professions—to see them go into the difficult and dark places in the world and to be light." -Asbury University's president, Dr. Kevin J. Brown [ToddStarnes.com] Monday will be the "final public worship service on Asbury University's campus," the administration announced Sunday. (Screengrab image) After tens of thousands of people flooded the small town of Wilmore, Kentucky, "the university in consultation with local law enforcement and city administration notified incoming visitors that parking and seating had exceeded capacity" Sunday afternoon. The last service open to the public is scheduled for Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. EST, according to the school's website. The Christian university held its final public evening service Sunday night which ended at 10 p.m. (You can rewatch the service here.) Asbury University's president, Dr. Kevin J. Brown, said they reversed their decision to livestream the services due to the high demand. Tucker Carlson Thanks Asbury University for Turning Cameras Away from Student-Led Revival "We look to other schools, other churches, or ministry communities as co-commissioners in this movement that's taking shape before us," Brown said in a video announcement. RELATED: Kari Jobe Shares Moving Experience at Asbury Revival: ‘All About Jesus' Brown also posted the following statement on background: At the completion of a regularly scheduled chapel service on February 8, 2023, at Asbury University, students lingered to pray, worship, and share. They have not stopped and, moreover, have been joined far and wide by hungry men and women across the world who desire to seek the Lord in this space. Since the first day, there have been countless expressions and demonstrations of radical humility, compassion, confession, consecration, and surrender unto the Lord. We are witnessing the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We continue to seek to discern the right balance between orderliness for our university students, faculty, and staff and our campus visitors—and creating space for individuals to have a life-transforming, Christ-centered encounter. (Screengrab image: Facebook-Caleb Parke) We are also tremendously thankful for the men and women who have worked so hard and diligently to create space for this special move of God. Hosting such a significant moment comes with a cost—and the goodwill and humility of our community has been inspiring. Finally, we cannot fully express the profound gratitude we have for stewarding this outpouring in the life of our school and beyond. Ultimately, we pray that our efforts in these days point to our Savior.

THE SAME HOLY SPIRIT IS IN.....

'THE SAME HOLY SPIRIT THATS IN ASBURY IS IN YOUR CITY' LORD JESUS, Thank YOU for the outpouring of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT that is occurring at Asbury College in Kentucky. Amen.

Presidents' Day Reflections

Presidents' Day Reflections by Bill Wilson As America reflects on President’s Day and where we are as a nation, it is sad that true Americans are vilified by a popular political “party,” and anything standing on ethics, morals and traditional values is ridiculed, mocked and frowned upon. This is a contradiction to the ideal of America. Those who first came to this new land were predominantly Christians who fled Europe because of religious persecution and/or the hope for a better life. This is documented through the writings of those who settled in Jamestown, Plymouth and even the Huguenots who settled in what is now Florida in the late 1500s. The “state of mind” of these early Americans was freedom of worship and enterprise. Our first president, George Washington, gave great insight into what it means to be an American in his 1796 Farewell Speech. He said, “Citizens, by birth or choice, of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of patriotism more than any appellation derived from local discriminations. With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion, manners, habits, and political principles. You have in a common cause fought and triumphed together; the independence and liberty you possess are the work of joint counsels, and joint efforts of common dangers, sufferings, and successes.” Washington pointed out that all citizens have independence and liberty in common. He said that for the most part, Americans share the same religion, manners, habits and political principles. That is, they were Christian; they were individualist, enterprising, and depended on the “national union” of our government “as of the palladium of your political safety and prosperity.” It is for this reason that Washington believed Americans should be watching for the nation’s “preservation with jealous anxiety...and indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our country from the rest, or to enfeeble the sacred ties which now link together the various parts.” The Founding Fathers envisioned a limited government where citizens would give up some independence for the protections needed to have a civil society. In this way, the Founders used Exodus 18:20-21 as a guide to establish our Republic, “And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them...” Self governance can only be accomplished through good citizenship. As you consider the present state of our nation and its leaders, perhaps measure them on the balance of Washington’s words and the premise of Exodus 18, and hold them accountable to the true American ideal

Safety in the Midst of Danger

Safety In The Midst Of Danger by Dr. D. James Kennedy “But the day of the Lord will come . . . and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:10 When life hands us difficult circumstances and dangerous situations, we all need safe hiding places. When you face the fire, where do you go to seek rescue? A whole host of dangers lie in life’s path, and at any time those dangers can threaten to overtake us. Many say we have a multitude of places to seek safety from life’s challenges, but truly we have only one—Jesus Christ. Consider the early pioneers who traveled across the vast plains of America. As they crossed the country, they often found themselves in a sea of grass for miles on end. In autumn, the grass turned brown and dry from exposure to the sun and lack of water. This condition caused a huge fire hazard, and the pioneers greatly feared seeing a wall of fire coming their way. They feared that they would have no escape as the wind blew the fire toward them faster than they could run. But the pioneers devised a way to survive this hazard. When they saw a wall of fire coming toward them, they ignited the grass behind them. The wind bringing the fire toward them also blew out the fire behind them, leaving a safe firebreak. The pioneers simply moved into the center of the blackened area, and when the larger wall of fire approached them, it went around them, leaving them unscathed. The pioneers’ only safe haven in the midst of the fire was where the fire had already been. We read in 2 Peter that “the day of the Lord will come…and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” Even as we read, the fire of God’s wrath comes upon this world, and we have only one safe hiding place. When that fire comes, we need to run to the place where the fire has already been—the cross of Christ. Through faith in Christ we realize that the fire that fell upon Him should have fallen upon us, and we find the one place of escape. Perhaps you face a wall of fire today. If so, seek the One who has endured the fire, for you’ll find safety only in His presence.

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9 If we likened Scripture passages to mountain ranges, I think “by grace are you saved” would be the Himalayas. This passage towers above all others because it contains the highest Biblical truth—by God’s grace we are saved. The apostle Paul said that among faith, hope, and love, the greatest is love. If Paul had included grace in the list, I have a feeling grace would have topped the list. But Paul didn’t include grace because he was comparing things which “abide.” Grace does not abide. It did not exist before Adam’s fall because it was not necessary, and it will not exist after the Final Judgment. There will be no grace for those in Hell, and those in glory will have no more need of it. Today is the “age of grace.” We can best understand the concept of grace through illustration. This one, limited as it is, still brings part of the point home. About 125 years ago in czarist Russia, a Russian nobleman and his faithful servant traveled by dog sled across a vast expanse of frozen wasteland. They had traveled for several hundred miles, and their home lay only twenty miles ahead. After such a long and treacherous journey, they looked forward to a warm bed and hot food. Suddenly a pack of hungry wolves appeared behind them, apparently having caught their scent. Despite the dogs’ efforts to pull the dog sled as fast as they could, the wolves started closing in. The situation was hopeless—they had no place to hide and no chance of outrunning the wolves. Suddenly, the old servant threw himself backward, off the dog sled. The wolf pack stopped and attacked the servant, sparing the nobleman’s life. Grace involves sacrifice. The greatest grace of all was God’s sacrifice of His own Son on the cross. Have you accepted His grace so that you may live with Him eternally?

If You Leave the Gate Open

If You Leave the Gate Open If you leave the gate open, the cow will wander off. So, if you intentionally leave the gate open, you want the cow to wander off. You can't blame stupidity or laziness. It was intentional. If you cut police budgets, you will get more crime on the streets. So, if you intentionally cut police budgets, you wanted more crime on the streets. If you cut back the supply of oil, gas prices will go up. So if you intentionally cut back the supply of oil, you wanted gas prices to go up. If you print trillions of dollars without increasing the supply of goods, inflation will hit hard. If you intentionally print trillions of dollars without more goods you want inflation to hit hard. If you leave the southern border wide open, you get more drug trafficking and human trafficking. So if you intentionally leave the border wide open, you wanted more drug trafficking and human trafficking. If you shut down 40% of the supply of baby formula in February, you'll get a huge shortage. When you KNOW a huge baby formula shortage is coming because of the FDAs actions and you purposefully do nothing to prevent it, month after month, until the crisis finally hits hard, you INTENDED this crisis. It is time to recognize the evil people behind that old man. They want crisis. They want chaos. They want riots. They want conflicts in your town. Their stated purpose years ago with Obama was to "take the US down a few notches on the world stage." You can feel the quality of your life going down with the country. These are not foolish or misguided people. They are intentionally and purposely taking our country somewhere we don't want to go. Forward this if you understand what is happening.

Psalm 91 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a] 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Disney Star Baptized

Disney Star Gets Baptized at Bethel after Publicly Declaring His Faith in Jesus Christ Steve Warren (Feb. 17, 2023) "Jesus Christ is the only way. His death and resurrection are historically documented. Turn away from hate, seek forgiveness and come home to Him." -Joshua Bassett airlift[CBN News] Joshua Bassett, one of the stars of Disney's High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, was baptized at Bethel Church located in Redding, California on Sunday. (Screengrab image) The singer also shared a video clip on Twitter and Instagram as he gave his confession of faith in Jesus Christ. "Hi, my name is Joshua," he said as the video showed him standing on the stage at the church. "And long story short, I grew up Christian, and I ran the other way as far as I could go in pursuit of 'truth,' and that only ended in addiction, depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, etc." "And no other teacher gave me anywhere near the peace that Jesus Christ did. And I'm here to publicly declare Him as my Lord and Savior," Bassett added as the audience broke into cheers and applause. The short 28-second video has garnered more than 406,000 likes on Instagram alone since it was posted three days ago. Another 8-second video posted to Twitter showed Bassett's baptism. As CBN News reported earlier this month, Bassett, 22, tweeted about his newfound faith in Jesus on Jan. 5, writing in a tweet: "Jesus Christ is the only way. His death and resurrection are historically documented. Turn away from hate, seek forgiveness and come home to Him." He has since tweeted other faith-filled messages to his followers. On Feb. 13, the singer tweeted: "the Gospel is GOOD NEWS for all willing to love and obey Him who keeps your heart beating." Bassett has also previously opened up about battling depression, stress, and panic attacks. In a tweet in late December, he reminded his fans to "reach out to support those you love." "Most people I know, including myself, are struggling right now. Please be good to yourselves and others, reach out to support those you love, and don't be afraid to ask for help," he wrote. In 2021, Bassett came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community during an interview with Clevver News, a YouTube-based outlet. It's unclear where he stands on that part of his journey. The singer is in rehearsals for his tour titled "The COMPLICATED Tour" that's set to begin on March 7 in San Francisco. The tour includes performances in 32 cities in the US, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and France and will conclude on May 9 with a stop in London
