Biden DOJ sues Texas over executive order banning transportation of sick illegal aliens - Just the News

The Biden Justice Department on Friday sued Texas and Gov. Greg Abbott seeking to overturn an executive order prohibiting the ground transportation of illegal aliens who could be carrying COVID-19.

Attorney General Merrick Garland’s team argued in U.S. District Court that Abbott’s order interferes with the federal government’s ability to address immigration.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said he would contest the order and "keep President Biden out of Texas business.”

Scores of congressional Republicans on Thursday urged the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade next term when the justices review a restrictive Mississippi abortion law. The GOP lawmakers, 44 senators and 184 House members, argued in an amicus brief that the landmark 1973 decision in Roe and related rulings represent “a vise grip on abortion politics. Congress and the States have shown that they are ready and able to address the issue in ways that reflect Americans’ varying viewpoints and are grounded in the science of fetal development and maternal health,” wrote the lawmakers, who represent 40 states.

The Thursday filing comes after Mississippi’s attorney general urged the justices last week in a brief to overrule Roe when the justices review Mississippi’s ban on virtually all abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

On Thursday, Mississippi also received backing from a dozen Republican governors who asked the Supreme Court to eliminate federal abortion protections and instead allow states to regulate the procedure

The ONLY source for ABSOLUTE TRUTH is God. God gave us His inspired, inerrant Word, and in that is where ABSOLUTE TRUTH can be found.

God also gave each of us free will. That means we are free to believe whatever we want. But what one person chooses to believe will not change the TRUTH of God found in the Bible. It is immutable, never changing. It is the foundation, the bedrock on which we can live our lives.

You are free to accept of reject what God says in the Bible but your verdict on His Word will not change the veracity of His Word..

Why do you think those who make choices in rebellion to the truth of God's Word will ALWAYS dismiss the Bible as just a book of stories written by men who use it for their own purposes? Those who rebel against God have to deny Him or admit they are wrong.

It is critical for each person who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to stand up for the truth of God's word in your day-to-day life. God has called believers to be the defenders of His truth. Don't be afraid to call sin sin.

People will mock you, deride you, call you names, even strike you, but that will not change the truth. We live in a time when the LIE is glorified, proclaimed boldly everywhere and in every way. The lie is told enough times that people actually begin to accept the lie as the truth. Yet we, the people of faith, the people who possess the ABSOLUTE TRUTH of God's Word, meekly and passively sit by, watching, keeping our mouths shut, going into our churches on Sunday and whispering God's truth so nobody will hear us!!!

I CHALLENGE EACH PERSON WHO READS THESE WORDS TODAY TO PRAY TO GOD AND ASK HIM FOR COURAGE, BOLDNESS, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO BE ABLE TO SHARE WITH OTHERS THE TRUTH OF HIS WORD.

You don't have to preach to do this. Simply live your day-to-day life in an uncompromising way that lets the lost and hurting around you know your life is different.

Allow the lost to see that you don't buy into the lies of this world!

You don't fall into the traps into which so many stumble because you are armed with the TRUTH!

And when those opportunities present themselves, boldly speak and proclaim to people what God says!

God doesn't call us to think for people. God doesn't call us to save anyone. We can't do that. What we CAN DO is share the truth of His Word with others, that is our job. What they choose to do with that truth then becomes an issue between them and God.

“Believers shouldn’t curse anyone or be quarrelsome, but they should be gentle and show courtesy to everyone." Titus 3:2 (GW)

Your gentleness is a witness to unbelievers. They’re watching you all the time to see if you are any different when you’re under stress. When you respond to pressure with gentleness, it’s an incredible testimony to the world.

The Bible says in Titus 3:2, “Believers shouldn’t curse anyone or be quarrelsome, but they should be gentle and show courtesy to everyone” (GW).

If you claim to be a follower of Jesus, you are not allowed to speak evil of anyone. You are not allowed to be quarrelsome. Instead, you must be gentle with and show courtesy to everyone. Does that mean even people of a different political party? Yes.

God gave me the gift of evangelism, so when I’m not at Saddleback Church, I’m spending most of my time speaking with people I totally disagree with. That’s because I believe you cannot win your enemies to Christ; you can only win your friends.

People aren’t going to trust Jesus until they trust you. People usually don’t ask me if the Bible is credible. They want to see that I am credible. Do I live with integrity? Am I gentle? Am I loving? Am I compassionate?

If people like what they see in you, they will listen to what you say.

Here’s the thing: If you obey Titus 3:2, you’re going to be criticized by other Christians. They’re going to say you’re compromising. I know this from experience. When I say I have friends who are Muslims, Jewish, or atheists, they say, “How could you do that?” And they accuse me of compromising.

Treating other people with respect does not mean you have to compromise what you believe. I have friends who don’t agree with me and friends who don’t believe what I believe. Because there’s something more important to focus on: Do they know Jesus?

A great verse to live by is 1 Peter 3:15: “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect”

"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." Proverbs 11:24-25

One of the reasons God entrusts money to us is to bless other Christians by meeting their needs. God uses the transfer of money within the Body of Christ to build unity among Christians. Sometimes we withhold money that God has designated for someone else. He wants to bless through us, but His will cannot be accomplished through us if we are disobedient.

This was the case for a business owner who tells of the time when God told him to forego a company bonus one year. God directed him to share his year-end bonus with an employee to show his appreciation for him. He wrestled with God for three full days before obeying the Lord on the matter. When he finally met with the employee to give him his check, the man said he had been praying about a financial need he had three days earlier. He had decided to borrow the money to meet his need. The amount of money he borrowed was the exact amount the business owner gave him.

God had already planned to provide for the employee through the business owner, but because he was hesitant, he almost missed the opportunity to be an instrument of God in this man's life. Even so, he could have prevented the man from having to borrow money. It was an important lesson for the business owner.

How many people do we let down because we feel the "harvest" God provides is all ours? In America, the pressure is always on to move up the ladder of material accumulation. Jesus warned us about this. If our focus is on accumulation, we will not look for opportunities to be God's vessels of financial blessing to others. Ask the Lord if you have an open heart when it comes to finances.
