Psalms, Chapter Thirteen

Psalms, Chapter Thirteen

(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

2How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

3Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Hebrews, Chapter One

Hebrews, Chapter One

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

9Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

10And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

11They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

12And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

13But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

We Need More Bibles

‘We Need More Bibles’: Ukrainian Store Runs Out of Bibles as People Encounter Scripture For ‘First Time Ever’ Amid Russian Crisis

The thirst for hope and the spread of uncertainty have been so rampant in Ukraine that at least one Christian store has totally run out of Bibles.

Robert L. Briggs, president and CEO of American Bible Society, penned a commentary piece Thursday for Christianity Today, explaining how Christians in Ukraine are responding to the Russian crisis.

“As people grapple with the unknown, many are experiencing the Bible’s message for the first time ever,” Briggs wrote. “According to [Anatoliy Raychynets, deputy general secretary of the Ukrainian Bible Society], priests and pastors over the past weeks have been flocking to the Bible Society store in Kyiv to buy Bibles.”

The situation has been so intense the store reportedly ran out of Bibles, with Raychynets telling Briggs their biggest challenge is getting enough copies of scripture to meet the demand.

“We need more Bibles,” he said.

Raychynets also revealed another crucial restorative detail about his relationship with Christian leaders in Russia, revealing that they communicate and have been united in Christ.

In a world of such toxic division — and amid tensions that do anything other than unite opposing sides — this is a powerful testament to the fruit of the Gospel in people’s lives.

“We speak to our colleagues in Russia,” he told Briggs. “We church leaders speak to one another, and we pray together. We are united in the Lord.”

As Faithwire previously reported, the Ukrainian people’s faith has been stunning to see.

This week, CNN captured a touching moment during which Ukrainians kneeled in prayer. And Raychynets previously shared how Christians and Jews have come together to pray Psalm 31 over their plight.

“For me, as a pastor, that Psalm … well, I read it differently now, because it’s about our current situation in Ukraine,” Raychynets told Eternity News. “This ancient prayer — written several thousand years ago — now we see is so alive, is living.”

Please continue to seek God on behalf of the people of Ukraine. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has invited the world to join him in prayer this Sunday.

Five Prayers That Will Change Your Life

Five Prayers That Will Change Your Life A Negative Example by Bill Wilson

… I give myself to prayer.   Psalm 109:4

All Christians need to learn how to abide in prayer. I am sure most of you have your stated times of prayer in the morning and at night, before your meals and after. The Bible says that we are to pray always. In all times, in all things, we are to pray. We should constantly be in touch with God. We are to walk with Him and talk with Him. Our last thoughts at night and our first thoughts in the morning will be of Him, as we learn to be always in prayer and thus to be dwelling in the secret place of the most High.

In the next few days, we will go through five prayers that can change our lives. Here they are:

Slay me (i.e., my old nature).
Cleanse me.
Fill me (with Your Holy Spirit).
Lead me.
Use me.

Try to pray these every day, and you will begin to notice changes.

Question to ponder:
Have you given yourself over to prayer?

Now all these things happened to them for examples. They are written as an admonition to us, upon whom the end of the ages has come.

— 1 Corinthians 10:11

Samson’s life was a great tragedy, but we learn much from a life such as his that had great potential but went awry. In a certain way, he was a picture of Christ—a very, very imperfect picture. Christ also had His birth announced by angels. He also was consecrated unto God. He also had a great calling. His calling was also to deliver the people of God, not from the tyranny of the Philistines, but from the tyranny of all evil.

Yet Christ never violated His vows. He never compromised His consecration. He lived a spotlessly sinless life all of His days. Then one day in the temple of the devil—upon a Cross with outstretched arms—Christ, the greater one than Samson, pressed upon the columns that upheld the very kingdom of evil, and with a mighty push, they went down. Christ did what He came to do. He destroyed the works of Satan.

Biden's Compromised Presidency

 Biden's Compromised Presidency by Bill Wilson

The news media and the Democratic Party are trying to make stick a weaponized narrative that conservatives, and former President Donald Trump in particular, are supporting Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine.

Not the case.

Lost on these frenzied virtue signalers is the irony. Saying that Putin is brilliant in the way that he went about Ukraine is a backhand slap to the man who is seriously lacking any brilliance in preventing and responding to Russia’s cold war aggression—Joe Biden.

Biden, who appears to be channeling Neville Chamberlain with his weak and feckless approach to the Russian invasion, is what Americans get when they allow a compromised candidate in office.

The rabid media and democrat blame-pointers cannot dare see the nuance of saying how smart a murderous dictator is when the guy in charge of the free world is hardly a match. Doing so would expose their own hypocrisy and underhanded dealings. That’s the very sad reality of this situation. And it’s nothing that wasn’t warned about prior to the election.

There is no way that Biden can be an effective foreign affairs standard-bearer for the United States when Russia and China—the two most powerful threats to freedom—have Biden in their pockets. He risks ruining, not only his reputation in the eyes of those who voted for him, but also his family’s financial empire. Not to mention he and former President Barack Obama’s most favored terrorist threat, Iran, to whom they gave billions in cash on pallets.

Let us remember the 87-page joint report issued by the Senate Committees on Homeland Security and Finance concluding that Hunter Biden, aided by his Vice President father, enriched the Biden family with scurrilous dealings in Russia, Ukraine and China.

The Bidens used the position of Vice President, hidden by a complicated international cadre of corporations and bank accounts, to extract money from government officials in Russia, Ukraine and China. In doing so, the Bidens, family members and friends, such as former Secretary of State John Kerry’s son, were enriched at the expense of American foreign policy and national security.

In Russia dealings, Biden received some $3.5 million from the wife of the former mayor of Moscow and paid Russian nationals involved with prostitution and human trafficking.

The Bidens were paid tens of millions of dollars taking money from the very countries that are trying to destroy America.

There is no way Joe Biden can act in the best national interest. In October of 2020, I wrote: “Not only is Joe Biden unfit for office because of these dealings, he is a risk to US national security. He is a compromised candidate. The Democrats should withdraw his name from the ballot.

Ephesians 5:6 says, “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”

I concluded, "Those who don’t really know what this means, surely will find out if Biden wins the presidency.”

The vultures are circling similar to what Christ said in Matthew 24:28, “For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the vultures be gathered together” and it’s not a pretty sight for America.
