The Master Key

Someone has said, "Prayer is the master key that opens all doors."

When the "key" doesn't seem to work, it is not because the key is defective. Rather, it is because the timing is not right or the door through which one intends to go is not right.

The GOD to whom you pray cares more about you than to allow you to enter an area that is not right for you. The LORD who loves you and has authorized you to use HIS OWN NAME in prayer will not answer a prayer that would result in your ultimate disappointment.

Consider, for example the child who insists he have candy before dinner. A wise and loving parent will not permit a willful child to ruin his appetite for the well-balanced meal that is being prepared for him by granting him permission to eat an unhealthy snack.

So, your loving HEAVENLY FATHER will not grant to you a petition you ask of HIM if HE in HIS infinite wisdom knows it would be your undoing. Rather, HE will require you to await a better time for or a better outcome to your prayer before HE grants your request.

The believer must have such complete trust in the HOLY ONE before whom he lays his petitions to know that even when the answer appears to be "NO," the LORD is working in the behalf of HIS child and bringing all things into compliance for the fulfillment of HIS promise that "all things work together for good" to those who love and trust HIM.

Lost in the Chaos

Lost in the recent chaos at Ohio State University was something that most people probably missed. 

 

About an hour into it, when everyone was "sheltering in place" all over campus, CNN took a phone call from a young woman who was locked inside a classroom right near where the suspect was hurting people. 

 

She said she was a graduate student and she and many others were huddled together scared and not sure what was happening outside. Then she said something made me tear up.

She said casually to the TV anchor over the phone, "But we happened to have a few 'military guys' in my class and the minute we got the text message alert of an 'active shooter on campus' they moved the rest of us away from the door and then all of them stood guard right by the door." 

 

She said they were standing there as she spoke making certain if a shooter tried to come through that door, they would be the first thing he'd see and they'd stop it and protect the other students or die trying.

These guys weren't armed, I'm guessing they weren't in uniform, they were just students who happened to have military training. 

 

Those "military guys" instantly put themselves on the clock and assumed the position to protect those unarmed, vulnerable students. 

I thought that was impressive. 

I thought that was brave. 

I thought that was so very American.
I thought you'd want to know.

When Adam and Eve sinned, they, representing all mankind, were expelled by God from the Garden of Eden. The Garden represents being in God's presence and thereby having easy access and communication with Him.

In Genesis 2:17, God warned Adam and Eve that in the day they ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they would die. Once they sinned, it became evident that God did not mean they would die immediately, but that, if they ate of that tree, they were as good as dead.

Their human life went on, but God, to emphasize the serious effect of their sin to later generations, placed a flaming sword to guard the Garden's borders. This portrayed that mankind, though still alive, was cut off from any relationship with Him.

Thus, sin, which demonstrates a lack of love and fidelity for our Creator, not only seals the death penalty on each sinner, but it also denies an individual access to and thus communication with God while they live on under Satan's continuing influence.

When Jesus paid the penalty for our sins, and we, by faith in that sacrifice, became justified, God legally cleared us of guilt before Him. It is as though the barrier of the flaming sword between us and Him were removed, opening the way for communication with Him and for the growth of a relationship with Him that never before existed for us.

The relationship we have with the Father and the Son through the work of Jesus Christ, both as the payment for our sins and as our High Priest, is everything in terms of salvation.

Why is this true? Because we can now communicate with Them! Having access to God furnishes an opportunity for a relationship with the Father and the Son. The relationship is the medium of communication - holy, righteous, spiritual communication.

This communication is more than a mere counterbalance to the evil spiritual influence of this world. It decidedly tips the scales in our favor in this war for our spiritual survival, if we will but continue to believe and trust Them by taking advantage of the contact,

communication, and influence freely given to us.

What Jesus does ever so briefly in John 17:3 is to tie quality of life, called "eternal life," to a person's relationship with God.

Even though many in the world may be religious, the world does not have a relationship with God. There is no communication from Him to them.

Undoubtedly, a lot of people know many things about God, but they cannot actually know Him without access to Him. It is like a person knowing of someone from across town by reputation but really knowing nothing about him through personal contact.

Please Pray for Peggy

Prayer Request:

Please pray for Peggy...she will undergo surgery for a brain tumor tomorrow morning.

LORD JESUS, we know that in the natural this is a major procedure, but we also know that for YOU, it is no more difficult than the simplest action.

We ask YOU to guide the hands of Peggy's surgeon (s) and to give them perfect knowledge of where her problem lies and how to safely remove it in its entirety.

We ask YOU to give Peggy health in her body so she can recover speedily and completely when the surgery is concluded.

We pray that YOU will give those who love her and are praying for her great power in their prayers.

We ask that YOU remind Peggy and all those praying that "The same power that raised YOU from the dead dwells in her," according to Romans 8:11, and because of that power, NOTHING can prevent her from emerging from this in total victory.

In YOUR mighty, matchless name we pray, JESUS. Amen.

 

 

Hypocricy Heights

If you have been following the news, there is a new nationwide show called Hypocrisy Heights. It stars defeated communists, Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein and Democratic Party Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Clinton, if you remember, was spastic about the possibilities that Donald Trump would not accept the results of the presidential election if he lost.

Stein and Clinton have decided to challenge the results of the election in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, if they can raise enough money to do so.

In reality, Clinton likely will also assist in funding the recounts initiated by Stein. This, after her fit that Trump may undermine the democratic process with a challenge if he lost.

On October 20, the news narrative was full of stories about Trump responding to a question during the third presidential debate about whether he would accept the result of the election if he lost. He responded, "I will tell you at the time. I'll keep you in suspense."

Clinton tweeted that his stance was "horrifying" saying that it "was not the way our democracy works."

Trump was labeled "dangerous" and damaging to democracy by the current president.

Reporters speculated for days what Trump not accepting defeat would do to the country. Political analysts at colleges and universities said it undermines the credibility of the elected president and could foment a shadow presidency by the loser, a divided nation.

Nary a mention from the news media about all the post-debate hysteria by Clinton, the Democratic Party and the president.

Clinton's camp is saying it wants to show that it is exploring all the options even though there is no "actionable evidence" suggesting foul play.

Using the narrative that Russia could have hacked the US election and put Trump in office, Clinton justifies undermining the Republic. In reality, she shouldn't want a recount considering there are several experts pointing to untold millions of illegal votes cast by noncitizens and dead people who have voted Clinton.

But Clinton is now exploring all options to something she called horrifying a month ago.

Hypocrisy Heights.

As citizens, we all should be concerned that elections are fair and conducted without foul play.

Trump should insist on a recount of all the votes in New York, California, Oregon, Washington, New Jersey, and just for kicks, Illinois, where the cemeteries are full of reliable voters.

He may win by a landslide of the popular vote after all the illegal votes are thrown out.

Notwithstanding, Clinton and her backers will not stop in trying to undermine our Constitutional Republic and replace it with a form of communism.

As Jesus said about the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 23:28, we can say about these hypocrites, "...you outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."
