Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware

We often look at the swift and dramatic discipline and punishment God used with his people in the Old Testament and are struck by its severity. The Holy Spirit reminds us that while this is true, to spurn grace and ridicule the sacrificial death of Jesus are actions all the more worthy of God's punishment. Grace is incredible. It is marvelous. But to reject it, to reject Jesus and all that he did to bring it, is to court disaster and reject any source of true grace.

My Prayer...

Holy and righteous Father, thank you so much for your painful and costly gift of grace. Please empower me to be a carrier of that grace to others. Give me the ability to share it in all its loveliness so others can know your salvation and not face your justice after having rejected your gracious gift of Jesus in whose name I pray. Amen.

A Dismal Future?

VIOLENCE is all that is left.

When people disagree with each other, the first step undertaken in a civil society is to debate the opposing ideas to endeavor to persuade the disagreeing parties to your viewpoint.

The next step is for opponents to simply try to silence each other to assure their beliefs are the only ones people hear.

After debate and silence, there is really only one avenue left ... VIOLENCE!

Currently in our nation, we no longer debate political differences. We are in a period of silencing those we disagree with as evidenced by the recent testimony of the ultra wealthy, liberal CEOs of Facebook and Twitter before Congress as to why their companies had censored conservative posts on social media.

We started down this road during the eight years of the Obama administration when half the nation rejected what they felt were anti-US policies being enacted. It became even more intense the morning after Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President.

Those who opposed his election decided even before he took office that they would take whatever measures necessary to damage his presidency. Their goal was to render Trump unable of accomplishing the conservative goals he had promised. When that was not as effective as his liberal opponents had hoped, they went even further in their attempt to undo the president and his policies by impeaching him and attempting to remove him from office.

I hope I'm wrong, but the only place left to go is civil unrest and VIOLENCE--and we have certainly seen that alternative in our streets in 2020.

Inevitably, a nation that has rejected God uses only worldly means to advance its agenda, and that has usually been accomplished through VIOLENCE!

Can people of faith avert this trend? Can people of faith steer the course of the nation along a better path?

God's WORD has a plausible answer to those questions in II Chronicles 7:14 -- "If MY people, who are called by MY name, will humble themselves and pray and seek MY face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land."

May people of faith bind together in humility and pursuit of the Holy One; may people of faith repent of their sin and seek the Lord's forgiveness.

May those who are called by His name beseech Him for a Third Great Awakening, for only spiritual revival can ultimately save our land.

At 64, the Vietnam War begins and ends at 75

A boy born in 1985 thinks his grandparents have no idea how difficult life is, but they have survived several wars and disasters.

Boy born in 1995 and now 25 thinks it's the end of the world when his Amazon package takes more than three days to arrive or when he doesn't get more than 15 `` likes '' for his photo posted on Facebook or Instagram. .

In 2020, many of us are living comfortably, we have access to different sources of home entertainment, and we often have more than we need.

But people are complaining about everything.

However, they have electricity, telephones, food, hot water and a roof over their heads.

None of this existed before.

But humanity has survived much more dire circumstances and has never lost the joy of living.

Maybe it's time to be less selfish, to stop complaining and crying.

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is compromised because of he and his son’s influence peddling with China and other countries, according to former business partner Tony Bobulinski’s new revelations made on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight. Bobulinski also revealed that Biden’s son Hunter “represented” the Chinese energy company, CEFC, in brokering a 14% stake in the Russian state oil company Rosneft to assist the company in identifying new markets as relations with the west were deteriorating. The deal fell through because CEFC wanted a far too large stake in the Russian company. These revelations indicate just how intricate the Biden dealings were with China and Russia.

According to Bobulinski, he met with Joe Biden to “discuss what I was doing with his family’s name and the Chinese.” He said, “Hunter introduced me as, this is Tony, dad, the individual I told you about that’s helping us with the business that we’re working on and the Chinese.” Bobulinski told Tucker Carlson that the meeting was scheduled at the request of the Biden’s, it was “crystal clear” that Hunter had informed Joe about the business dealings, and Joe Biden’s recent statements that he didn’t know about nor discuss his son’s business dealings is “a blatant lie.” In addition, Biden’s brother Jim told Bobulinski that the political risk posed by the Biden’s enrichment scheme was mitigated by, what he called, “plausible deniability.”

Bobulinski said, “After I met with Joe Biden the morning of May 3 at the Milken Conference, and then was taken backstage after Joe had spoken, we joked around for about 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and then I walked him out to his car….And then after that, I went over to the Peninsula Hotel and I sat with Jim Biden for two hours, where Jim Biden walked through his history, in his own words, stating all the work and effort he did to get Joe Biden elected initially in Delaware and then through the family history and the role that he had played in it… And I remember looking at Jim Biden and saying, how are you guys getting away with this? Aren’t you concerned? And he looked at me and he laughed a little bit and said, plausible deniability.”

The facts surrounding this corruption come from at least four sources: 1) Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee and the Senate Committee on Finance investigation; 2) Hunter Biden’s laptop; 3) Hunter Biden’s former business partner Bevan Cooney, who is serving time for the very business dealings Hunter and he did; and 4) Bobulinski’s emails and eyewitness accounts. These are four independent sources saying that Joe Biden is a compromised candidate. He cannot possibly represent America’s interests without being leveraged by Russia, Ukraine and China. It’s like God telling Ezekiel to dig into the temple wall and in Ezekiel 8:9, “Go in, and see the wicked abominations which they are doing here.” The more that people dig, the more we are finding that Joe Biden and his family are horribly corrupt.
