Hebrews 11:1 says something remarkable, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is that quality of being able, as God is, of calling things that are not as though they were.
He who created all that is from nothing can transform our circumstances, no matter how impossible it appears from our limited understanding, for them to be changed.
John, the beloved apostle, in the first of His letters (I John 5:15) states it thusly, “If we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked of Him.” Faith propels us to ask for the impossible so God who speaks things into existence can show Himself strong in our behalf!
It may sound cliché, but the old saying in Christian circles, ‘Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity,’ has a broad scriptural foundation. We serve a living Christ who is in the miracle working business! It is His good pleasure to supply His people with all they need. Let’s ask boldly, so we may receive (Hebrews 4:16).
