Jesus spoke the words that are truth and life. The Apostle John attests to the fact that Jesus’ words and actions were very life to those who came to Him. In fact, John, in the final passage of his gospel states that the recorded acts of Jesus are only a fraction of all He did when He walked among us (John 21:25).
The writers of the gospels give us eye-witness accounts of the earthly ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The epistles of Paul were written after a face-to-face encounter with our risen Lord (Acts 9:1-9). The words of the Bible were scrupulously copied from original manuscripts to affirm that they are without error.
We may stand on the Word of God in its entirety, knowing that we stand on the truth. Yet even with the veracity of the prophets and apostles and historians (including the secular historian Josephus) to affirm the credibility of the entirety of the Word, the Lord has given us yet another witness.
In John 15:26 Jesus says, “When the Comforter comes—the Spirit of Truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me.” If YOU harbor any doubt about the accuracy of the Word of God or the authenticity of the teachings regarding Christ’s ministry, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. He will.
