Approval

Everyone seeks approval. Children yearn for their mommies and daddies to remind them frequently that they are delighted with them, that they love them unconditionally.

Teens seek the approval of their peers. They want to look, speak and act like the kids in their click. They want to 'fit in' far more than they want to achieve good grades or self-realization.

Adults endeavor to 'keep up with the Joneses.' The neighbor who buys a new car is far greater inspiration to purchase a new set of wheels than is the condition of one's current vehicle.

The Word of God implies that there is a subtle endeavor on the part of believers to desire the gifts and blessings that they see in other people of faith, and they are cautioned against it.

"They who compare themselves among themselves are not wise," II Corinthians 10:12, is a clear statement of the snare of looking upon the life of another for the purpose of measuring gifts, trials, blessings.

It is totally unprofitable to engage in the game the enemy sets before you of comparing your life and your responsibilities before God to those HE has assigned to another.

Each person is to live his life so fully before the 'audience of ONE' that he cares nothing for his 'rank' among men. If a man is striving to please the LORD in all his endeavors, the opinions of men will not matter to him.

When a person's validation comes from CHRIST, he is secure in who he is because he is kept in the heart of GOD. When a person's validation comes from CHRIST, he knows he is precious in the beloved.
