As we enter the second month of our new year, may we be aware of the gift that the Lord is extending to us--the gift of life.
Every day we hear of another terrorist attack, those kinds of random assaults against unsuspecting people who are simply going about the usual routine of life, but which alter their tomorrows forever.
Every day we learn of someone who has suffered a financial setback or a physical problem or a relationship reversal that will deeply impact them not only physically but emotionally.

Every day we realize more fully how truly frail life is. We see the
ordinary-ness of our days as a blessing when the passage of time does
not find us plunged into cares that require solutions, solutions we
can't produce.
But whatever circumstances in which we may find ourselves, we know each breath is a gift from God and that the gift of life is His way of saying we have hope. And our hope is in Him.
Every day that we live is a reminder from our Savior that He has taken our cares upon Himself. He has taken our punishment upon His sinless person. He has endured our loss so we may partake fully of His abundance.
Enter a new month with hope abounding in the One who is our hope. Enter a new month with joy abounding in the One whose joy is our strength. Enter a new month with unfailing faith that Jesus is unfailing.
