My Faith Votes
Some Christians believe that they must not be involved in political matters and therefore relinquish their right to vote. To substantiate their conviction they cite that Jesus was not involved in politics. That would be a much more viable assertion if there had been an opportunity to do so in that day of rule by an iron Roman fist.
Rather than non-voting in this day of freedom to vote, believers in Christ should assume every right afforded to them by the sacrifice that the Lord made by His propitiatory death and resurrection.
We should exercise our franchise.
We should speak out boldly in behalf of honorable people who run for office.
We should stand solidly on Biblical truth.
We should shout our faith from the housetops.
We should support our local body of believers.
If we who have been eternally set free from the consequences of sin do not exalt in our freedom, can our freedom long be secure?
