Through Christ

September 4, 2013

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5

May the Lord help us to always recognize our true enemy. No matter who appears to be against us, no matter what circumstances may challenge us, the reality is that our enemy is God's ancient foe. The one who comes to "steal, kill and destroy' is behind every onslaught we face. Our energy, therefore, must be applied to pulling down his stronghold and devastating him.

When we have done that (by the strength Christ promises to us--"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," I Peter 5:7--we will see the promise fulfilled in us.

May He ever help us to be strong in Him so Jesus may be ever glorified in and through us. May we be mindful also that "the joy of the Lord is our strength," Nehemiah 8:10.
