Election Prayer

Almighty God, many of the candidates poised to oppose President Trump are people who would destroy the fabric of this land as our founding fathers established it. Their bent is toward socialism and ultimately, toward communism, which has failed everywhere it's been implemented.

We humbly ask for You to have mercy upon the U.S.A. as You establish the leaders for our nation as this year's election unfolds. We ask for Your hand of protection to be over our president and that You keep his heart and his mind focused on You and on Your will.

Please open the eyes of our people to the devastation that awaits this great nation if our freedom is voted away. We ask that You do not give us what we deserve, but what will make us free and prosperous that we might continue to carry Your Word of truth into all parts of the world.

We implore you that the spirit of repentance sweep mightily across our land. We ask for a president that seeks to follow Your Way, Your Will and Your Word. Have Your way, Lord.

We who believe pray the II Chronicles 7:14 prayer over our nation:

"If MY people, who are called by MY name, will humble themselves and pray and seek MY face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land."

We pray Your will be accomplished in the primary and national elections. We pray that You foil the plans of Your enemies, O Lord.

In the name of JESUS, we crush the head of the evil one who "comes to steal, kill, and destroy," and we negate his power over our people and over our land.

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." (Romans 13:1)
