Thoughts on Today's Verse by Phil Ware
Sometimes the disagreements within the church can be discouraging and cause us to lose sight of the incredible blessings we have in God's family. We have many reasons to rejoice in the Lord. Let's not lose sight of those, especially when those around us get caught up in unfortunate rivalries. Let's remember our hope is in the crucified Nazarene, who is also our resurrected Lord and ever-present Savior.
My Prayer...
Father, thank you for the joy my brothers and sisters in the faith and I have in knowing Jesus. May we always rejoice in the salvation you have purchased for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Please help us to focus always on Him, not on the minor differences of opinion among us.
With joy I anticipate the day of great celebration when the Lord returns to share your glory with me and all those who long for his coming.
Even in my darkest moments of despair, I thank you for the flame of hope and the assurance of victory that sustain my deep and abiding joy of being your child. In the name of my Savior, the Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
