It is a bit disconcerting to think that the Lord takes His cue from man, but there is a body of evidence to suggest under some circumstances, that is exactly what He does. Of course, He is not in the practice of seeking counsel from men as He made absolutely clear to Job when he had endured his grievous ordeal (Job 38:1-36).
But it is an undeniable fact that certain actions, attitudes, and mindsets on the part of an individual precipitate reciprocal outcomes in his life that can be either attributed to mere coincidence or recognized as the hand of the Almighty at work.
In II Samuel 22:26, the prophet asserts to believers as he speaks to them in the behalf of God, “To the faithful, You show Yourself faithful; to the blameless, You show Yourself blameless, O Lord.” Evidently, there is a certain consequence that follows the heart set and the mindset of a man.
If indeed, this is the case, it behooves man to state with David, the great songsmith, warrior, and king over Israel those beautiful words he penned in Psalm 19:14, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord my Strength and my Redeemer.
