It is an unfortunate reality that too much power, vested in too many people, for too long a time becomes a tool in their hands that is used for their own aggrandizement rather than to advance the interests of the nation.
If our representatives are to serve our nation and its people well, it is imperative that they do not see their tenure in office as the ultimate opportunity to serve themselves.
We the people must rise up and require those who run for office to do so without the possibility of their tenure becoming a life-long career.
