Rejoice in the LORD

At times, anyone, even a believer in CHRIST, may feel he has nothing about which to rejoice. The admonition to "rejoice in the LORD always" can ring quite hollow at those times.

When trouble assails--sickness, financial reversal, professional setback, relational trauma, the 'shadow of death'--all these dampen the desire to rejoice in the LORD, for at those times, HE seems far away and disinterested in the plight that is faced.

Yet HIS immutable WORD further tells HIS people that "the joy of the LORD is your strength," Nehemiah 8:10. The very thing the enemy of your soul, the schemer and liar and spoiler of your hopes and efforts would have you to be is weak and powerless to overcome the adversity he brings your way.

If he can rob you of your joy, if he can dampen your desire to rejoice in the HOLY ONE, old slewfoot can render you powerless to overcome the problems you face.

At those times when you feel helpless (and feelings are deceitful) remind yourself that the WORD of GOD assures you that "the same power that raised JESUS from the dead lives in you," Romans 8:11. That formidable power means you are not undone by your circumstances but you have authority over them!

Employ that great gift of power that your SAVIOR has invested in you and discover its transformative impact upon the adversity you face.

The BIBLE tells us that what the devil means for evil, the LORD is able to turn around for good.

The good that comes is a blessing however it comes, but is most satisfying when it has been brought about by your own steadfast, unswerving faith in the LORD and in the power HE has invested in you.

Stop. Release. Trust. Rejoice!

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" -Philippians 4:4
