Reflecting on Fathers
Yesterday, we had the opportunity to reflect upon the men who gave us life, who instilled us with wisdom, to empowered us with faith...or perhaps not.
The reality is that many of us did not know our fathers because they died before we were born or because they elected not to assume the responsibility for our up-bringing.

The reality is that many of us did not know our fathers because they died before we were born or because they elected not to assume the responsibility for our up-bringing.
Perhaps even worse are those fathers whose presence in our lives had a
negative impact because they were not honorable men who raised us to be
honorable.
Perhaps they were focused upon themselves.
Perhaps they were harsh and demanding.
Perhaps they were cheats and liars.
Perhaps they were faithless.
If our fathers were not what GOD intended them to be--prophets and priests over their families (prophets who carry the word of the LORD to their wives and children, and priests who carry the needs of their wives and children to the LORD) then our ability to discover GOD as our Heavenly Father is impaired, sometimes irreparably.
But, whoever our earthly fathers may be, whatever their influence upon us may have been, there is still a deep longing within us that cannot be satisfied apart from our discovering the relationship that the HOLY ONE desires to have with us.
May we pursue HIM with all our heart, for HIS WORD assures that "YOU SHALL SEEK ME AND FIND ME WHEN YOU SHALL SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART."
