Godly Woman / Fallen Woman
Perhaps the statement by Fr. Fulton J. Sheen sums up the gospel message more concisely than most others. Jesus' mother Mary was the first to know how God would fulfill His promise (see Genesis 3:15) to mankind to send a Redeemer, but it was Mary the former harlot who first saw the empty tomb and the risen Christ (see John 20:11-18).
Godly woman / fallen woman--and all manner of humanity in between--need a Savior for, "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23.
How blessed we are that Jesus looked beyond our relative goodness as well as our obvious failures and saw our need.
