Happy...

November 27

The God who made us knows our frame. He does not condone our transgressions, but He fully comprehends our weakness where temptation is concerned and He Knows we are totally incapable of overcoming our proclivity to sin in our own strength.

That’s why He says in Isaiah 1:18, “Come, let us reason together. Though your sins may have stained your life as scarlet, they shall be washed white as snow. Though they are crimson, they can be as newly carded wool.”

The God who identifies Himself as our Father has a profound desire for every man who ever lives to receive this cleansing from sin because it is the Father’s will for every man who ever lived to abide with Him eternally. Apart from the forgiveness from sin that is obtained when a man believes in Jesus as Savior and Lord, there can be no cleansing (see I Timothy 4:10).

To accept Christ’s cleansing sacrifice is to attain not only eternal salvation but also temporal joy. As David who was guilty of adultery and murder says in Psalm 32:1, 2, “Happy is the man whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned. Joyful is the man whom the Lord does not consider guilty and in whom there is found no sin.”
