If having a healthy, God-centered marriage is what you desire, then you need to understand the importance of paying the cost now in preparation, so you don't deal with unnecessary expenses later!

You see, there are those that treat marriage as a liability and those that treat it as an asset. It's only a liability when you don't "budget" or PLAN out your season of preparation the RIGHT way. I'm not talking about money--I'm talking about the CURRENCY of your SOUL.

Did you know that you that currency is synonymous with value?

Did you know that your soul (mind, will, intellect, and emotions) matters and is worth a lot to God? Why else would He send His son to the cross to show us just how much He loved us and ultimately wanted to see us free and prospering in our souls?

Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Things that keep us from prospering in our souls include unhealthy relationships, unreconciled pasts, unforgiveness, past trauma, and dysfunctional ties to toxic memories, individuals, and emotions.

Apart of the preparation journey for marriage includes dealing with the barriers that work against the health of our soul! Being single isn't the time to just WAIT, it's the time to WORK! Apart of that work is doing whatever it takes to be sure your SOUL is prospering and not declining in health!

3 John 1:2 says, "Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul PROSPERS."

Are you willing to go to God and confront the areas that He reveals that you need to work on? Are you surrounded with a positive community to hold you accountable and to ultimately help you mature and heal in the areas that are still fragmented and broken in you? Are you ready to deal with the liabilities in your soul that keep you from being the BEST version of you that God has called you to be?

If you said YES to any of the above--then you're WELL on your way to preparing yourself to be your BEST self and eventually the BEST version of who you need to be before meeting the one!
