A Thought on Kneeling for the Pledge
In America, citizens pledge allegiance to the flag … and to the republic for which it stands. It is basically a pledge to we, the people, being in charge of ourselves.
When someone protests the flag, they are effectively saying, I don't want to be king anymore - I protest this system where people participate in ruling themselves.
