(The Re-telling of an Old Story)
There once was an emperor who thought quite highly of himself. He thought nothing of lavishing himself and his family with every grand thing they could acquire at the expense of his heavily-taxed people. Whether designer clothing or lavish vacations, nothing was beyond the desire of this ruler whose consumption knew no bounds.
Beyond confiscating the treasure of the people upon his own
unquenchable desire for more things and more lavish adventures, he was
also determined to transform the nation from one of honor and law and
morality into a place where integrity is disdained and law is subjective
and morality is turned on its ear.
In a land of checks and balances, where one branch of government is to oversee the dictates of the emperor, there seemed, however to be no one to step up and say that the emperor had exceeded his authority...so he continued to impose his convoluted perception of what is right upon the entire nation.
However, there was one very small, very insignificant woman who dared to say something akin to the words of the child of the original story who said, "The emperor has no clothes!"
She said, "The emperor is exceeding his authority! The emperor is dictating policy that turns over 200 years of Christianity in this nation into a dust-heap of discarded virtue and truth! The emperor is leading the entire nation into a quagmire of lawlessness and immorality. The emperor is laying this nation open to the wrath of the HOLY GOD who has been our fortress since the inception of this land! Will we not stand together against his godlessness? Will we not pray for him to be robed in the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST so we can be a godly nation again?"
