TO'EVAH

The Most Detestable Thing by Brad Reichs
to'evah (Hebrew) noun:  "detestable thing, abomination."

So what is it?  Which "to'evah" is referenced more than twice as much as any other?

is it  Idolatry?* Pride?  Adultery?  Homosexuality?  Bestiality?  Incest?  Violence?  Good guesses all.

However, the abomination described 2x's more than any other is...

1-2.  A lying tongue.  see Proverbs 6:17; 12:22.
3.     A false witness.  see Proverbs 6:19.
4.     A false balance (scale).  see Proverbs 11:1.
5-6.  Dishonest weights and measures.
see Proverbs 20:10,23.
7.     Cheating others.  see Deuteronomy 25:13-16.
8.     Breaking vows.  see Ezekiel 18:6-13.

Makes sense, doesn't it?  Jesus is the Truth, Satan is the Liar.  The Devil, "Does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him" (see John 8:44).

And when we lie and deceive, as Jesus said, we are functioning as an ambassador for the Devil, the great Deceiver...

And Jesus came to destroy the works of the Devil (see 1 John 3:8).

"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”  Revelation 21:8
