LET US REFLECT AND REPENT
Congressman Doug Lamborn has introduced a resolution (H. Res. 790), expressing support for the designation of July 2, 2016 as the "National Day of Personal Reflection and Repentance."
"While there will be no solemn assemblies or public gatherings, this is a call for all of us to personally reflect before our God, to repent for our national and our personal sins, and to ask God to forgive us and to heal our land. There is substantial historical precedent for national repentance and seeking God's forgiveness and favor.
Presidents John Adams, James Madison, and Abraham Lincoln all declared
days of repentance during their presidencies. As it is written in
Chronicles 7:14, 'If My people, who are called by My name, will humble
themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways
then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal
their land.'" - Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)
Thank you, Congressman Lamborn, for sponsoring a bill that is so needful in our nation today.
May Christians of every denomination humble themselves before our SAVIOR and beseech HIS mercy and healing upon our land as we implore HIM to forgive our sins.
