Important Concept

An IMPORTANT CONCEPT to CAREFULLY WEIGH

The absolute control of monarchs over the people they governed was most succinctly expressed by France's Sun King, Louis XIV when he said, "It is legal because I wish it."

Under such a concept of governance, the people have no authority and the will of the people is of no consideration. Indeed, for the people to express their will is to invite prosecution, imprisonment or death.

This unrestrained power was boasted of by King James I of England who said, “The king is overlord of the whole land, so is he master over every person that inhabiteth the same, having power over the life and death of every one of them...so the power flows always from himself."

As AMERICANS draw near to election day, they will be exercising their right to choose who will lead them for the next four years.

It is imperative that they choose wisely.

It is of utmost importance that they not select someone considered to be above the law, for no citizen who is unaccountable to the law of the land is fit to govern a free people.

If we are not wise in casting our vote, we may be subjecting ourselves to one whose perception of her role as president is more like that of the Sun King and that of James I.

As President James Monroe said, "When the people become ignorant and corrupt, when they degenerate...they are incapable of exercising sovereignty. USURPATION is then an easy attainment, and an USURPER is soon found."

This was echoed by President William Henry Harrison in his Inaugural Address on March 4, 1841: "The TENDENCY OF POWER TO INCREASE ITSELF, particularly when exercised by a single individual...would terminate in virtual monarchy."

Once we have a monarch, we will no longer be free.

Vote wisely.
