Clint Eastwood is always the good guy. He's the one in the movie who comes in and fixes the mess others have made--and he does it in a way that leaves no doubt that order has been restored.
That's rather like what Donald Trump proposes to do in Washington...and that's basically why he is so vehemently opposed by the political establishment.
Political power has changed hands numerous times, but whether the Democrats or the Republicans have gained power, the status quo has remained the same.
Politicians talk a good line. Voters hear their message and cast their
ballots, but nothing changes. The reason business goes on as usual in
D.C. is because those elected to power are essentially bought and paid
for by special interest groups--business entities, governmental
entities--that curry their favor by whatever means work.
Power and money are a heady elixir and once a politician has gotten 'high' on it, they no longer find the work of governance, the fulfilling of the will of the people who elected them, to be sufficient.
With all his flaws--and they are many--Donald Trump cannot be bought because his wealth exceeds what most of us can even conceptualize.
He doesn't need a payoff to fill his pockets. He's LOADED!
He doesn't need the power of the Oval Office. He's POWERFUL
.
With all his flaws--and they ARE MANY--Donald Trump is a patriot who loves AMERICA. His purpose in running for the presidency is to restore the nation that he has loved for a lifetime.
If he loses, he goes back to being rich and powerful.
If he loses, ordinary people like you and me go back to being disgruntled with the failed economy, with the lack of international prestige, with the steady encroachment upon our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, with our loss of our voice.
Perhaps it takes one 'good guy' to recognize another.
Just as we would at the movies, we need to get behind the good guy.
