The Top Ten Bible Verses to Teach Your Children:
These Verses Will Guide Them Through Life

By inculcating these 10 Bible verses in your children’s mind, your children will always have a guide for life. Teaching your children God’s word will bring you and your children closer to God and His word!

1. Colossians 3:20
“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.”

Children need to know that their parents love them very much, and it pleases God to know that they are obedient and listen to mommy and daddy.

2. Matthew 28:20
“And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Your kids must remember that God will always be with them. He is also their protector, and that they should always trust in Him and His decisions.

3. Ephesians 4:32
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Teach your children the importance of forgiving others. The world is a dark and scary place, but it doesn’t have to be.

4. 1 John 3:23
“And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us.”

Love is the most notable attribute that God wants you and your children to imitate.

5. Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.”

There will be times in your children’s life when they will not be with you. They must know that they will always have their heavenly father when scared, frightened or unsure what is to happen.

6. Psalm 138:1
“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing Your praise.”

How often do you sing praises to God with your kids? Singing lets the heart rejoice, and of course God will too!

7.John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever would believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

This may be the most important verse that your child should remember. It is the basis and most valuable proof of God’s love.

8. Proverbs 1:8
“Hear, my son, your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.”

If your kids learn this at an early age, it will save you so many headaches when they become teenagers. When teens rebel, don’t respond negatively. It is only their nature to get out in the world and learn it for themselves. But with proper instructing from you, they will stick to their good morals and values.

9. Galatians 5: 22,23
“On the other hand, the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law”

It is important for your children to identify the fruit of the spirit. As the verse suggests, against such attributes there is no law. This means that all of those traits are essential in one’s life. Teach them that goodness starts with them and their decisions.

10. Revelations 21:4
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.”

Every Christian child should know this one. It is God’s ultimate promise of delivering the world of pain. Let them know that God will be the One to comfort them in their time of need.
