Your Personal Encounter with Jesus
A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. "Give glory to God," they said. "We know this man is a sinner." He replied, "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!" —John 9:24-25
Whether you believe it or not, our GOD still interacts with HIS people today. HE still speaks, HE still reveals HIMSELF through signs and wonders, HE is still revealing HIMSELF to those who seek HIM with a full heart.
Why?
Some believers are sure that this kind of personal encounter with the HOLY ONE is no longer viable or necessary because believers today have the HOLY SCRIPTURES and the BIBLE is sufficient for all one needs to know of GOD.
And that is true. Anyone who has the revealed WORD of GOD, HIS "love letter" to mankind, has all he needs in order to believe; but HE who inhabits the universe is not in the practice of giving to man merely "all he needs." The LOVER of mankind has promised, "exceeding, abundantly above all we can ask or think."
With that understanding of HIS intention to exceed our requests or our thoughts, can we not then be sure that when the occasion arises, HE will reveal HIMSELF to us in glorious ways that are beyond the ordinary! Can we not believe that indeed, "signs and wonders shall follow those who believe"!
Can people of faith today not say of HIM as did the blind man who received his sight, "This one thing I know--I once was blind and now I see."
As Mike Bickle states below, beyond the believer's own experience, there is also his desire to impact others with the veracity of CHRIST'S claim upon a life. An encounter with the miracle working GOD can indeed substantiate that claim.
As the bride of Christ, we desire to impact others, to feel significant, and to exhilarate others with good news of the gospel.
For example, when one of the blind men was healed at Jesus's meeting, imagine his joy in telling his blind friends about the meeting the following day. How exhilarating to bring that news to them!
Imagine the joy as he informs his friends that another healing meeting is scheduled for the following evening!
The ability to make an impact on others is something that was given to us by God.
How are we using it?
