We Have The Blessing

June 9

In Psalm 33:22, King David beseeches the Lord for something for which none of us ever need ask. Oh, yes, we may ask God for anything with the assurance that if it is in accordance with His will, He will do it as promised in I John 5:14.

Yes, we know if two or more agree as touching any matter, the Lord Himself is in the midst of them and He will give them what they desire of Him according to the will of the Father in Heaven (Matthew 18:19).

We know the Word affirms in James 4:2, “You have not because you have not asked.” If, indeed, the burden of receiving the answers to our prayers is upon us, what is it that we’re missing from the equation? What is it we’re not seeing that is part of the valuable truth that opens the windows of Heaven that our blessings may be poured upon us?

Going back to Psalm 33:22, perhaps it is that one thing for which we needn’t ask but that we neglect to appropriate that hinders the flow of answers to our prayers and blessings to our lives, that being, “Your unfailing love rests upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You.” If we hope in Him, we already HAVE the blessing! Appropriate it!
