Freedom Isn't Free
Freedom isn't free. Neither is its concept bred into human awareness. Freedom must be honored. Freedom must be taught. Freedom must be lived. Apart from the holding of freedom in high esteem by our citizens, our children will be unaware of the treasure they possess.
If parents and teachers do not instill a high regard for freedom into the minds of our young, if they do not challenge the youth of our land to hold tightly to freedom and to fight fiercely for it, it will not be long until that great treasure, bequeathed to us by our founding fathers, will be squandered in the marketplace of ideas.
The people of "the greatest generation" gave their all for freedom so it was maintained for another generation. What have we done to keep their sacrifice from slipping through our fingers? What have we done to assure that our children and grandchildren will grasp it with a tight grip?
