The continual cuddling made her feel “strange and uncomfortable,” Joe Biden's wife states — but she eventually became aware it was a habit.
“I realized that physical affection played an important role in him,” she writes, explaining that Biden, “never wanted to miss a chance to hold a hand, wrap his arms around someone, or give a kiss.”
“I sometimes found all that affection draining,” she writes, but “when Joe loves, he loves hard; he’s all in.”
The two met in 1975, three years after Joe Biden’s first wife and young daughter were killed in a car accident, and Jill Biden attributes his need to be “constantly touching” to that tragedy.
