Flag Day

Today is Flag Day.

May all who are privileged to be citizens of the United States of America wave our flag proudly.

Oh, no, everything is not as it should be in our land -- and until we love one another as the LORD has loved us will be begin to approximate the glorious achievement of being "right."

Until we love our brothers, without regard to the color of his skin or his national origin or his faith, we cannot begin to fulfill the hope our founding fathers had in the Stars and Stripes.

LORD JESUS, we who are called by YOUR name come before YOU boldly, as YOU have said we may approach YOU, asking that YOU pour YOUR HOLY SPIRIT upon this land that was laid at YOUR feet at its inception.  We ask that every person who enters the borders of this great land will feel the presence and power of YOUR HOLY SPIRIT drawing him into full and completely surrendered fellowship with YOU as his SAVIOR and LORD.

We ask, JESUS, that YOU cause each of us to repent before YOU of every secret sin and of every ungodly thought so that we may be washed clean in YOUR shed blood.

We remind YOU of YOUR WORD that says, "IF MY PEOPLE, WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN AND FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND."  II Chronicles 7:14

Heal our land, JESUS, from sea to shining sea, and open our eyes to behold YOU,  LORD and SAVIOR and GOD over us all.

It is in YOUR mighty, matchless name we pray, JESUS.  Amen.
