I Am Baffled

 I Am Baffled.

I am baffled. We are in the season of selection of the person who will occupy the White House for the next four years and many friends and relatives -- people I know grew up with the same Catholic values that pervaded my up-bringing -- are stanchly in the corner of Joe Biden, who is against everything the Catholic Church stands for!
Yes, he professes to be a Catholic, but his politics and his personal behavior defy his profession.
Joe Biden's stand on abortion is a stench in the nostrils of the GOD of LIFE. JESUS CHRIST came to earth to die for the sins of all foolish, wanton men, including abortion, but one does not come out of the confessional with the intent to sin another day.
Joe Biden, in addition to being pro-abortion, has been complicit with his son Hunter Biden in the sale of U.S. secrets to the Chinese. The Chinese are among the world's most fervent persecutors of Christians, so by the sale of information privy to him as Vice-president of the United States, Joe Biden enabled the Chinese to persecute / murder thousands of Joe Biden's brothers in faith.
Those who hate President Trump with a vitriolic disdain will point to his three marriages to evidence his unworthiness to hold his high office. Those same people point to Jill Biden as evidence of Joe Biden's honoring of his marriage vows. They conveniently forget that Mrs. Biden was married to someone else when she caught Joe's fancy.
In addition to his adultrous affair with the now Mrs. Biden, Joe has also been accused of projecting unwanted attention on many of the women with whom he has worked or interacted through his political career. His current running mate, Kamala Harris, accused him of rape before accepting his invitation to run on his ticket.
Is either candidate "lily pure"? No, and neither are any of us who stand accusing them. The question becomes, which candidate comes closest to having turned from his sin to espouse the values of the HOLY ONE?
So, to my Catholic friends and family who are lined up to vote for Biden, I ask, "Do you really want to stand before GOD one day and acknowledge that you cast your one vote for a man who is unrepentant for the evil he has done?"
The alternative is a man who is equally guilty but forgiven.
Is that what you are? Guilty but forgiven?
