Let’s pray and prepare our hearts with anticipation: Father, we repent of having allowed our hearts to grow cold toward the sanctifying blood of our Lord Jesus. Thank You for reaching into those places within us that have grown numb. Soften our hearts tonight — our hearts toward You, toward one another, and toward our nation. Grant us deep understanding of the authority You have given us to forgive others. In Your Name, Abba, we offer this prayer, Amen. Key verse for this national gathering: "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld” (John 20:23).
