A Musical Stroll Down MEMORY LANE
Record City added a new video: '60's SUPREMES vs. '40's ANDREWS SISTERS.
SUPREMES and THE ANDREWS SISTERS TOGETHER ONE TIME ONLY
In 1966.The Andrews Sisters – the most popular girl group of the forties – joined the Supremes – the most popular girl group of the sixties. It was a onetime historic union. Each group sang the other group’s greatest hits.
The Andrews Sisters were known for their close harmony. Their beautiful harmonies helped them sell over 75 million records.
It is nice to see and hear the Supremes in this clip as a group harmonizing the Andrews Sisters hits beautifully.
Although the footage is a little grainy, at least this historic union of two great groups from two different eras can be enjoyed more than half a century later.
