Patience

Lord Jesus, help us as parents to be patient with our children. Help us to extend rich learning opportunities to them as we give them new foods to try. Help us to provide good books for them to read, good people for them to spend time with, good churches for them to attend, good lives to emulate.

But help us to allow them to grow in their own time, in their own way, into the adults You desire them to become. Help us not to indulge their faults but let us not demand of them a maturity for which they're not ready.

And, Precious Lord, thank You for being patient with us, as our loving Heavenly Father, for You extend rich learning opportunities to us; You have given us Your wondrous BOOK to read; You have surrounded us with good people to be our friends; You have given us wonderful churches to attend.

Thank You for allowing us to grow in our own time, in our own way, into the believers You desire us to become. Thank You that You do not indulge our faults but neither do You require of us a level of maturity for which we are not ready.

Thank You for loving us, Jesus...help us to love as You love.
