The WORD of GOD tells us, "Some trust in chariots; some trust in horses, but we will depend on the name of the LORD our GOD." Psalm 20:7
There is nothing, no one, in whom we may place our trust that can salvage our faltering economy, our diminished military, our broken political system or our abandoned morality from the ash heap upon which we have cast them except the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
The WORD further tells us, "In returning and in confidence shall be your strength," Isaiah 30:15.
To what, to whom, shall we return?
Our founding fathers pledged "their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor" to an ideal that was established upon CHRIST and HIS WORD. They set their hope of a free nation upon the ONE who had died to give them spiritual freedom.
We who are their spiritual heirs can do no less.
Our only hope today to overcome the threat of terrorism, to overcome economic and political upheaval, to overcome prejudice of every sort, to overcome human foibles, is as was their hope at the point of the Revolution against Britain, the mightiest military force in the world--JESUS.
The only hope of our fallen planet is still JESUS.

The Bible says: "Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]." Proverbs 3:5-6
Today I pray for the peace of our people through this turbulent political season. There is an epic battle being waged for the seat of power in our country. I pray that we stay fixed on the planks and pledges, NOT the personalities and foibles.
Trust in God to have His way!
I Pray we remember that God uses the foolish things to confound the wise. I pray we walk in His presence and have peace. Amen!
