Are You Looking in the Wrong Places?

"Your word is a light to my path and a lamp to my feet." Psalm 119:105

All people need His light to guide them through life's dark challenges. Nobody can wend his way alone through the gathering clouds of adversity nor maintain a sure footing on a rugged path that leads through dangers, toils and snares.

Everyone needs a light, a strong hand to hold. Everyone needs a guide through the challenges that every day brings to life in this fallen world...and there is ONE STRONG HAND. THERE IS A GUIDE. HE IS JESUS.

We may discover Him at church or in His Holy Word, the Bible. We may be introduced to Him by a friend who desires us to know Him. We may meet Him in an unexpected place, in an unusual circumstance, but through whatever means we become aware of Him, we will know Him when we allow Him to live within our heart.

When He has become our personal Savior, we will attend church whenever the doors are open, because there we will come to know others of like precious faith.

When He becomes our personal Savior, we will peruse His Holy Word the Bible, for it is His love letter to us.

When He is our Savior and Lord we will select our friendships from among His people.

When we are His and He is ours, we will take Him to every place we go, we will trust Him in every circumstance we face, and we will know Him in a fuller, richer way that we could have ever imagined because it is His longing that we know Him through life and abide with Him through eternity.

His Word promises salvation through JESUS, and His Word delivers salvation through JESUS to everyone who seeks for Him, for the promise is, "YOU SHALL SEEK ME AND FIND ME WHEN YOU SHALL SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART." Jeremiah 29:13

We should find the assurance of our salvation in the objective truth of God's Word. We should have confident trust that we are saved based on the promises God has declared, not because of our subjective experiences.
