A group of young people decided to shoot up a police station. Several officers were wounded while others rushed to defend against the attack. It has been reported that Officer Colson, one of those defending the station, was downed by friendly fire.
The heartache of his loss is all the more wrenching because of the circumstances.
In contemplating them, our anguish deepens, and the abject futility of some of man's best intentions becomes evident.
To his family we say, may you "sorrow not as those who have no hope."

To ourselves we say, "no man knows the day or the hour his Savior will come for him." Mark 13:32, Matthew 24:36
We salute you, Officer Colson, and wish you a great and glorious eternal rest.

Our condolences and prayers go out to the family of Prince George's County police officer Jacai Colson, who was killed Sunday outside of his station. We cannot take the service and sacrifice of our law enforcement officers for granted!
