There is so little we can do that really blesses God.
We cannot please Him with our generosity, for HE OWNS THE CATTLE ON A THOUSAND HILLS. Psalm 50:10 When we share of what He's given to us with those who are less fortunate than we are, we bless ourselves far more than we bless God.
We cannot impress Him with our obedience, for OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE. I Samuel 15:22 When we obey our Holy God, we are advantaging ourselves, not Him, for HE is always true to Himself. Our blessings come to us when we are true to Him.
We cannot give our love to Him in order to lavish Him with the treasure
of our heart because HIS Word tells us that GOD IS LOVE, I John 4:8 and
that HE FIRST LOVED US, I John 4:19. Apart from Him, we have no love
to give. With Him, we only return to Him a portion of what He has
poured out upon us because He loved the world, John 3:16.
We cannot die for Him in order to please Him because, as Paul said, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain," Philippians 1:21. Whether I live or die, I am the Lord's." Romans 14:8 Since He has already died so we can live eternally, there is no death for us.
But what we do have the power to lay at His feet each day is our worship, "the fruit of our lips giving praise to His name." Hebrews 13:15
Our fellowship with Him is richer and purer; our relationship to our glorious God and Savior becomes more precious than gold when we allow the fruit of our lips to extol His holy name.
