Sounds Simple

This sounds simple enough--don't get water-logged.

But how can mere human beings prevent themselves from being overwhelmed by conditions around them? People are facing rather significant circumstances.

The economy has slumped. Parents can hardly hold their own, let alone anticipate that those coming after them will enjoy opportunities that will allow them to rise above the accomplishments of their  own generation.

Academic achievement falters. Test scores have plummeted far from the day when American schools produced scholars whose work excelled and whose prospects for achievement exceeded those of any other part of the world.

People are dealing with sickness--new plagues seem to arise that defy medical intervention. Encroaching old age diminishes the abilities of the wisest among us to continue to walk in strength of mind, and body.

Faith in the One True God is on the decline. Those who yet abide in Him understand that apart from revival, we as a people and the freedom we have enjoyed will perish.

This sounds simple, but how do we prevent ourselves from being engulfed by the adverse circumstances that swell like waves around us?

Our answer to that perplexity is that we remain filled with something else.

We cannot, we will not allow ourselves to be filled with fear because of what we see if we allow ourselves to remain filled with faith because of WHO we know!

If we open ourselves to the complete infilling of GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT, if we let ourselves be vessels who are filled with the presence and the power of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, we will have no space within ourselves for the anxiety that is overwhelming the world.

May we be believers who "walk by faith, not by sight." II Corinthians 5:7
