The Cross
The Romans devised this method of execution to strike terror into the minds and hearts of the people they conquered and controlled. Today, it has become little more than a piece of jewelry to a lot of people, but the reality is that that ancient symbol of terror and modern symbol of indifference is far more than the Romans could have imagined or the modern scoffers can fathom.
This simple play on light and shadow conveys a message that we cannot ignore--the cross is the ONE way, the ONLY way that sinful mankind can find the direction to the portal of Heaven, where he will find eternal peace.
