How Do You Do Christmas?
Some people spend themselves on Christmas. They search out the perfect tree and decorate it lavishly. They purchase the most expensive and exquisite gifts for those they love and wrap them beautifully. They prepare a Christmas feast that is fit for a king.
And they have missed the whole meaning of the celebration.
Oh, yes, they've filled the season with fun and they'll do it over again next year and the year after that...
...but without the inclusion of the heart of Christmas, they will entirely miss the "reason for the season."
Unless they recognize and acknowledge the CHRIST who is at the center of the holiday, they will miss the eternal purpose of the birth of the BABE OF BETHLEHEM; they will miss the "unspeakable GIFT" that is wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger.
Enjoy Christmas to the fullest, but in all the celebration of the temporal side of the world's most amazing holiday, do not allow yourself to overlook the eternal aspect; do not overlook its eternal glory.
Receive JESUS as your SAVIOR and LORD so your celebration of this fabulous "winter holiday" will be anchored in the ONE who came to give you LIFE.
May all His finest, true gifts be yours this CHRISTMAS: His JOY that is your strength, His PEACE that passes understanding, His FAITH that moves mountains, and His LOVE that never fails.
