Who Do You Serve?
Everybody (yes, everybody) serves something or someone.
What (Who) do you serve?
Perhaps you serve a goal--professionally, you will rise to the top; financially, you will accrue great wealth; relationally, you will win the heart of the object of your affection; spiritually, you will earn a place among the esteemed of God.
The reality is that no matter what you say to convince yourself that you serve no master, you are. The eternal reality is that the master you serve will determine not only your temporal pursuits but also your eternal destination.
No man can serve a worldly master and receive the fulness of the heavenly reward the Savior came to bestow upon him. YOU cannot "serve God and mammon."
Rather than immerse yourself in pursuit of the alluring things of time, allow yourself to focus on the eternal. Allow yourself to look upon JESUS and serve HIM only.
