Electoral College

Unless you want your laws to be made and your culture defined in New York City and Los Angeles, stand in opposition to Warren's latest power grab!
Tonight Elizabeth Warren called for the abolishment of the electoral college. This an effort to destroy an important balance of power given to us in the Constitution.
People in rural areas have far different desires and demands of government than people in urban areas.
In general, most people in urban areas believe that the purpose of government is to provide for the wants of the people. Most people in rural areas think that the purpose of government is to protect life, liberty, and property.
Urban areas vote more for socialism. Rural areas vote more for freedom. This is roughly (but imperfectly) aligned with Democrats and Republicans.
The electoral college insures that all parts of America are important in elections. If we abolish the electoral college, candidates will spend virtually all their time and attention on the major urban areas to win the popular vote.
California and the East Coast will dominate along with the big cities in Texas and Chicago. Nothing else will matter much.
And if you don’t matter during election season, I guarantee you that you won’t matter when it is time to pass laws, impose taxes, or pick judges.
You will live in the districts—like in the Hunger Games.
If Warren or this ill-advised effort to form interstate compacts ever result in the abolishment of the electoral college, I will file or assist a lawsuit to challenge its constitutionality.
All Americans must matter. Those of us who live in the “flyover zones” have much to lose if this crazy idea becomes reality.
