Prayer Regarding Those Who Think Differently

Prayer Regarding Those Who Think Differently

Holy One, once again we come to You at the foot of the Cross, realizing that this problem begins with us. It is written: "Judgment must first begin in the House of God" (1 Peter 4:17 ) so we must first judge ourselves. . . Father God, we have fallen short, and we are now paying the price as America seems to be at a standstill . . .
Lord God, we first repent that we have judged our brothers and sisters harshly. Only You know the reason for their position; and only You can bring them to truth. We will obey Your admonition in Matthew 7:5 -- It is written:
"You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
Although we cannot understand any who calls himself a Christ follower who would support the slaughter of unborn and newly born babies, we ask you to forgive us for judging those who do.
Father God, we stand ready to reach out to these ones in gestures of grace, love and healing. Let us embrace the Cross together, and let us trust You to bring us together again.
We now ask You, Holy One, as we have stood in repentance, to move according to Your Word in Ephesians 2:14 - 18. Amen.
"14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit."
